the dell site to configure the m1730 is broke. clicking "build yours" for the "good" configuration does not give you anything to configure. the "better" configuration does not allow you to change out the optical drive and clicking the "best" build yours button takes your browser into a never-ending loop of refreshing. fix your site dell!

good luck ordering one with vista. talking on the phone with sales, they say there is even more of a delay ordering one with vista. and to see the unit shipped with scuffs... not for me. i don't typically like dropping a couple grand and waiting a couple months to even see it.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.

"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
