Goo! I'm curious if anyone is excited about this handset and if so, why?
I love how Ross Rubin refuses to have open comments on his milquetoast articles. Now with unfixed typos!
Frying Man!!! Tramporino!

Wow! such a grand public airing of personal insecurity!

Kid, just ask what you need as far as personal priority:

you can put together a windows box for next to nothing: This is economical. You can code, you can browse. If you're writing some code, i'm sure you can do this and get by without a portable.

you can go with Mac OS and get your daily user fill easier and your dev fill via boot camp just fine.

Or you can go with a windows or mac box and put some linux on that just fine. Linux: a passionate, passionate agenda for some (very talented) developers. Though those same passions drive some awful bullshit when it comes to realworld standardization.

Pick a fit that works for the kid: Budget, flexibility, idealism, or some balance of the 3.

Odd to see a goddamn comment board trying guide a kid vis a vis his/her next buying decision.

Guy, buy what you want to create for: fuck the critics.

and that has something to do with this post how?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
