Damn no one know anything about prison theory here do they. Sad people, you should go read some Foucault. Any ways todays prisons are not about punishment they are about rehabilitation. The goal of the prison to try and turn some is cant function in society and make it so that they can. Denying a prisoner any means of entertainment is not going to help rehabilitate someone.
Wow guys way to way over react, if you read the support page then you can see it mearly looks like an attempt to make the usually bleak and boring support page a little more interesting to read. PLUS! as engadget also quotes they blame themselves more then they blame windows. "and even more upset with ourselves for not catching it." Also i will say this at least they are alerting people to this and attempting to fix it before there have been any reports by users of the problems vs. the current trend of tech companies these days waiting till every one complains about it before doing anything or admitting to it. Not they they deserve credit for this as that is how all companies should approach these kinds of problems, but as i said at least its better then some companies out that have been doing. So again everyone clam down there are far more concerning problems i would say out there for us to go crazy angry about this.

UM im sorry G Money but the fact of the matter is that everyone of the US cell phone carriers sucks HUGE balls ini one way or another. There is no denying it, if you take your oh so wonder VZW for example, just look at how they are known to cripple bluetooth capabilities on their phones. Or how much of a pain in the ass they make it to hook ur phone up to your computer by any method. Or how they are on record of saying people shouldn't expect good coverage in their homes. Or how they are the only carrier who gets all pissy if you try to share a connection you have via one of there pcim cards with another computer. I can name bad things about all the other US carriers too. I only mention VZW because you brought it up. Name another and ill list all the stupid things about that carrier too. Point is ALL US CELL PHONE CARRIERS SUCK ASS.

"JCA- Check the Apple store, the glossy screen is definitely not an option on any of the MacBook models (just the MacBook Pro models). If it were an option on the MacBook, I'd take it a lot more seriously."

Yes but the article is in reference to the Macbook pro not the macbook. That seems to be the problem here everyone is having. I am glad apple is at least giving us the option on the macbook pros, I personally hate glossy screens. I hope this sets a trend in the laptop world because I have certainly never seen the glossy screen as an option on any other laptop before pc or mac. It drives me nuts that you have to deal with the glossy if you want a pc laptop these days.
Dont worry I am sure a gsm version will be along some time just look at the 650 the cdma version was out long before the gsm on but the gsm on came none the less. And sprint has its ev-do network going on full throttle now too so this could be a sprint exclusive at first, which would make sense if u look at past treo releases most of which sprint grabbed exclusives for at least for the first couple months. But regardless dont worry my gsm friends im sure you will get some treo love at some-point or other.
I think this is store is, although partly to compete with the apple stores, is more to compete with the sony and nintendo stores in new york. And be more xbox oriented. Your sister blog joystiq.com reported this same thing but they cited as being to sell xbox's. Though I personally think is a mix partly to sell xbox's and partly to compete with the apple stores.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a wireless trackpad to use with my older (2.5 or so years old) C2D MacBook that's perpetually docked to my home theater. Something sleek, thin, not too small, made of high quality materials. Ideally, it would natively support all of (Snow) Leopard's multitouch inputs, and even more ideally, it would have a charging dock / base. The only problem is that I'm not sure that such a thing even exists. Think you can throw me a bone?"
