I made about $5500 this past year working part time washing dishes at the "new" minimum wage. ($7.25/hour) Most of it ended up going towards stupid shit, though. ><

Kudos, kid. Keep it up and you might be noticed by someone and could land a sweet job/scholarship in engineering.
You know, if the PS2 sees another price drop, I may put in for a piece of console gaming. I've been a fairly PC-only gamer for awhile, now, but I do want to play God of War and such. A $99.99 PS2 would be right up my alley.
@TheFuzz

So, you approve of a totalitarian government, where every aspect of your life is controlled by the system "for your own good?"

While the article is unfortunate, the solution isn't more regulation, but education and positive feedback. Insurance companies should continue to offer discounts for drivers who buy vehicles equipped with hands-free devices. More vehicles need to be required to have or support these types of systems, and people need to be taught how to use these systems properly.

The idea of forced sterilization and regulated population are very scary and Orwellian thoughts. If you can't handle daily responsibility for your actions, that's your problem.
Out of the thousands to iPods I saw floating around my high school, last year, I personally knew two Zune owners. I've never considered myself a Microsoft lover, nor do I nesccesarily hate the company (says an Ubuntu user). When I first handled the original Zune, I found to interface to be pretty slick. I was tempted to drop $200 on one right then and there.

Now, I'm again looking to upgrade from my current PMP (Cowon's iAudio F2 4GB, a decent player to be sure, but lacking in video options.) My first consideration was a new iPod Nano. However, due to the highly publicized quality control issues and the lesser mentioned attempt to shut-out non-iTunes syncing, I promptly decided to take my money elsewere.

Thus, I'm at a tough choice, the new Zune 2 (A flash-based model priced between $150 and $175 would be hard to resist) or the new Creative Zen (With a beautiful screen and fantastic form-factor, along with SD expansion options.) My primary concern is, of course, Linux interoperability. For some reason, I'm skeptical that a device from Microsoft would be all too friendly towards Linux, but I could be wrong.

I guess I'll just have to watch the web and see what shakes out.

PS. Just looked at pricing. $150 for the 4GB model is indeed in my price range.
You saying I should vote for Ron Paul? Oh... Wait... I thought this was Digg, for a second.
Ah, I just love the smell of competition in the morning. :)
Where the fuck did I put my gravity gun?!
You're doing it wrong.
Maybe because he finds the smaller form-factor more appealing?
Off-topic: I do enjoy the expression of the uniformed man on the left. He's got the universal "Eck..." thing going on.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
