Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
Er, why? Because Sony "deserves" to finally have one format out of all its many failed formats succeed? Because then we can go back to the crappy antiquated MPEG2 codec that Bluray's capacity was originally designed for? Because then we can wait until BDA "finishes" the Bluray spec? Because you own a PS3/BD player/stock?
Do you understand the concept of "attach rate?" The 4 million Bluray "players" sold have translated into fewer than two million BD discs sold. OTOH, the 200,000 HD DVD players have sold well over a million discs. You tell me which format is selling more discs per player.
"HD-DVD will be able to hold out even longer before throwing in the towel"
Don't bet on HD DVD being the one to throw in the towel... it clearly has the popular grassroots support. If you just take a moment to read through Sony's creative accounting spin, you'll see it's true.
