This is AtlasFolder 's rig. So...unless he's that dude, then, engadget, you just attributed a rig to someone it doesn't belong to. Check out his Extreme Overclocking Stats...he gets something like 270K ppd on the team Hunt-Dis. Just posted this very video on his website on the 5th, and someone has already ripped it off.
...Anyone besides me nervous when you put a device prone to catching on fire (a la battery fires), and encase it in one of the hottest-burning substances that there is (Magnesium)?
I imagine these types of things will become largely irrelevant once OpenCL and its ilk penetrate the market, in terms of arriving in developers' code.

The most important feature on any workstation-type computer, until then, is still the CPU, IMO.

Once you get a unified standard, though, and can use a standard graphics card (which, I don't imagine, will be called that for much longer*) for the updated, gpu-accelerated software...there's no real reason for the Quadro or Fire cards anymore.

*Parallel Processing Units? Something like that, really, should replace the current nomenclature...as proof, I point to how my 8800GTS 512 folds (4800 ppd), simulates physx, and generally runs any software written in CUDA (and now, openCL). Only about 1/2 of its work is gaming.
I have the 2GB player...and the only complaint I have about it is that it doesn't have a true random number generator...so, you'll figure out which song is next pretty quickly...I used to get to listen to it a lot at work, and I sure did.

Now, my fix was to steadily delete the songs off of it...but, I'd rather Sansa fix it.
The main story here is that the 4870X2, which is a resoundingly HOT card, has a triple slot cooler, the first of its kind marketed.

What is overlooked is that those who purchase this kind of video card are typically better-served by water cooling them, as it allows for better motherboard-slot utilization...and it greatly reduces the noise.

Basically a non-story, as the card itself is nothing special compared to other 4870X2s...but, graphics-cardland is pretty slow at the moment, so I'll not hold it too much against them, as Palit themselves are really to blame.
This probably should be called an ultra-portable and not a netbook, given its specs and inevitable price tag.
Mmmm....pokemon.

(40.8-34)/34 = .2 , also known as "20%"

You use the 34 as your base, since that's what's being improved upon.

Thus, solar cells are 20% more efficient than they were, but only 6.8% more efficient overall.

Remember, an improvement from 1 to 2 is an improvement of 100%, even though it's only an improvement of 1
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
