The same concern was had for DVDs ten years ago. Yet the built-in error correction of DVDs more than compensate for the reduced pit size relative to CDs. I gather the error correction of BD-RE is more than sufficient.
It's only an "unborn child" if the mother wants to keep it. Otherwise, it's a "nonviable tissue mass."
