I have to completely agree with you on this front. I have an early 2008 15" MacBook Pro and I love having the ExpressCard because I have an eSATA card plugged into it. The express card has 2 eSATA devices connected to it: (1) Blu-ray drive and (2) an external 1.5TB hard drive.

Since Apple is getting rid of these devices, I will have to use the USB, Firewire 400, Firewire 800 ports on these devices. I would much rather use the eSATA because I paid extra for the optical drive and external hard drive cases so I could have eSATA.

Luckily, I still have about another 1.5 years until I buy a new laptop. By then, Apple will probably have a Blu-ray drive and an eSATA port on the MacBook Pro.

i REALLY want this

Wish they would enable this feature if you don't have a Slingbox. I just want to be able to schedule the recording, not actually watch the recording. Slingbox should only be required if you want to watch it.

I only have two HDMI ports on my Onkyo receiver and they are connected to my Dish Network DVR and my Samsung Blu-ray player. I could really use the 3X1 HDMI switch because I am looking to get an Apple TV and don't have enough ports for it.

It's hard for me to side with Comcast because I absolutely hate the company. I live in the Philadelphia media market and have Dish Network. The only thing I don't like about Dish Network is that Comcast doesn't broadcast on their system. This means the only Philadelphia Phillies game I get to watch are on myPHL17. I also don't get to watch any of the post game shows for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Anyway, Comcast has a right to decide what networks they want on each of their packages. The NFL Network is a niche demographic which is actually supposed to be geared to me, the football and I only watch it on Thursday nights after Thanksgiving when they broadcast games. I don't watch any of their regular broadcasting.

This would definitely be a nice addition to the collection of Apple products that I own. I have a 1st generation iPod Touch but don't have a 2nd generation.

I think that the DTV transition should just happen. I understand that a lot of people that have requested coupons from the government haven't received them but if you can't afford to buy a converter box, even if you are watching free TV, in my opinion, you shouldn't own a TV. I would think that the majority of people that aren't aware of the transition still won't know on June 12th. Just force the switch already.
