Things might be better if the likes of Apple provided decent earphones with their products. Apple's earbuds are useless - more sound goes out of the casing than into the ear canal.

When I bought some Sennheiser CX300s, I used the volume limit on my iPod for fear of inadvertently deafening myself! The battery lasts longer too.

Still, like others send, this is just common sense.
I thought they outsourced anyway, much like TDK does. I don't think I've ever seen Maxell discs, but I wish they'd bring back their CrO₂ tapes - they were the best available and now it's impossible to get decent tapes. Some of us still have cassette players in the car y'know!

One thing I've learnt about optical media is don't trust the brand. They all use different manufacturers, and while one TDK disc may be fantastic, another is coaster-material. Verbatim and Dysan tend to be good though =).
Does no-one else think it remarkable that Apple doesn't want another drive from their best friends Matstita? Could this finally bring an end to uncrackable region locking?

I hope so... Who knows, the drives Sony (finally) produce for Apple might even meet the DVD forum's standards. Support for 8cm discs would be nice too - other slot-loading drives can manage it, why not Apple's?
@ fischju:

That's nonsense. No other manufacturer has a WUSXGA 22" monitor. All 22" monitors are WSXGA = 1680x1050. I've always thought this was a stupid resolution - 200 more pixels in width and 30 more pixels in height and you'd have 1080i/p HD resolution.
This looks more likely to be an implementation of Mail's Exchange support. It requires the IMAP option to be enabled on the Exchange server - it works almost identically to Entourage. Mail's Exchange "support" is a little buggy; avoided by configuring the Exchange account as IMAP instead of Exchange.

Something I haven't seen mentioned is IMAP's potential for PUSH email. It's built into the IMAP4 protocol and would work on my SE K610i if I had the data-plan to afford it! This is how Entourage and Mail deliver email asap.
Perhaps it's being explored as an option of Leopard Server?
Are Nespresso machines really that new? According to Wiki, they're been used in businesses since 1986!

While I've tried a Nespresso Americano before, which wasn't too bad, I'd never buy one. It's about vendor lock-in; you have to use their capsules. What if Nescafé decide the system's unprofitable and stop producing capsules? You've got a dead coffee machine...
This is a problem I noticed with my MacBook about three weeks ago. I immediately booked a Genius Bar appointment in Southampton for the next day, when they asked very few questions and replaced the whole top case (keyboard, trackpad, etc.) in under 10 minutes, all under warranty.

While it's questionable why this occurred in the first place (I never mishandle my MacBook - it cost an incredible amount and I couldn't live without it) I cannot fault Apple's response in repairing it.

Some people have blamed poor Chinese materials. Quite frankly, plastic is plastic - it's the same compound where ever you go. Not only that, but China must be the world's biggest producer of plastic, so they surely have the most production experience!

I have read reports that in the later revisions (I have a Core Duo version), this area has been reinforced from underneath. How true this is, I have no idea. In the meantime, at least the fault is being repaired under warranty.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
