Def. Chinese worker. Were it not for the near slave labor of the Chinese worker, the Middle Class would be much smaller; we all *know* tiny wonders of miniaturization and complex electronics don't *really* cost what we pay for them.

Right?

"ATT's crappy network" myth:

No matter how many times numerous people point out that one can stand in the same spot with various and sundry different phones all across the ATT line that have and retain a signal with full bars whilst the iPhone shows a single bar, EDGE or No Service...someone is going to blame Apple's issues on ATT.

This is what the man is talking about. No matter what the evidence is, whatever shortcomings the hardware or the platform may have will be glossed over by a core group because Apple can do no wrong. Many people still believe that the 21st Century Apple is the same Apple of a quarter century ago.

It isn't. Doesn't matter if you like it or not. Most of the critique in the piece referenced *is* valid...still. Most of what is blamed on ATT *is* actually Apple...but it is heretical amongst some to just say it.

The way the phone, the OS, works to handle *actual phone calls*...you know the "Phone" part of "iPhone"...is a large part of *why* the phone drops so many. There are people that have been on ATT for 10 years and have never had a piece of hardware that does such a poor job *as an actual telephone* as the iPhone does and repeating the meme "ATTs crappy network" does nothing to actually get CoreTelephony actually fixed and working correctly...

Just grab a 3G phone from even before the iPhone...and whip it out whenever you can't seem to get a signal. Come up with whatever reason makes you feel good (I've even heard that ATT *intentionally* screws with the iPhone for some nefarious reason as an 'explanation' for this) but by ALL means...

...Do go on :)

Hyperbole much, then?

Apple is a pimple on the azzcheek of handheld gaming, son. Ever hear of this lil' Japanese company called Nintendo?

No. It is extremely communistic. Sorry. It doesn't matter how long the exposition is or how eloquently you try to frame it :)

A creator sets the value. A market determines if that value is worth it to them. The inverse "collectivist" scenario you float is exactly what the previous respondent claimed it to be.

You want people to "grow up"? Here's an idea...goes back over 150 years:

Instead of some people plundering some other people...or everyone plundering everyone...

How about we try "no one plunders ANYONE"...how's that for a grown-up way of handling the situation? :)

As pointed out already, Breach of Contract (one you don't even *sign* no less) is not illegal. It is a civil matter.

Additionally you should probably stop parroting Apple if you don't know what the words mean; "Due to worm which only affects iPhones with the security software disabled" is not accurate. There is no "disabled security software" involved with this 'worm' (which it isn't) whatsoever. It is the specific installation of a specific application that enables this.

Note too that prior to this, every single known security exploit ever successfully used against an iPhone has been on "locked down" phones with factory software.

If you are going to engage in apologetics and wag your finger, do try to be more informed in the future.

@ttsgeb We should never, ever be afraid to learn, to know, or to confirm what we do not know.
It is the essential reason why we are here.

And Pie. To discover the nature of how the natural world works...and pie.
Ignorant fool:

Tar isn't some magic component added to cigarettes, you anti-tobbaco "racist".

Tar is a byproduct of pyrolysis. It is produced by burning any organic material.

Look. Smoking is bad for you, no doubt...over a protracted period of time. However, this notion that breathing a whiff of smoke will shorten your life by a day or a myriad of other junk science notions that have been used to essentially make ONE QUARTER of America citizens some sort of pariah while unfairly taxing them to support OTHER PEOPLE is a bit much.

For Apple to claim the machine was a "biohazard" would need them to back it up with FACTUAL DATA that indicated this. They could say it was "yuckky", or "stinky", or "we are a bunch of holier-than-thou California hippies asswipes that would rather have people living in their own piss in the streets than to cut down some trees for housing...but we care too much about human health to touch your computer"...but to label it a 'biohazard' is just plain nonsense.

And no. I do not smoke. But more than that, I do not tolerate stupid statements about smoking from anyone...especially since smoking is the New Racism.

Some of the same rhetoric used about and against smokers has been used repeatedly to oppress other minority groups too...and with about as much evidence. It is so bad that some people use if or not people smoke AT HOME as a condition not to hire...

Sorry. It just really irritates me to no end...especially when some stoner says something stupid like "weed doesn't have tar". Where the hell do you think the tar comes from? Smoke, you idiot.
No...I think he works for the Obama Administration.

I got this in this morning.

I can confirm it supports and plays back 720p.

At first I thought it did not as the first title I tried seemed to "hang" (Leverage TV Series) however another title I tried did in fact play and does so @ 720p

Erm. That was a *horrible* rebuttal article. His basic take was "these claims are all true but I don't care"...c'mon :)
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
