please, can't you stop making stupid jokes about this HD thing? for those who really need lens implants this is truly amazing news (and most of you guys will need them too, when you get old enough)!

the lens implants used today are OK, and they do save people from blindness, but they can admittably be better. built-in bifocality, the ability to adjust lens strength *after* the operation and enhanced "HD vision" sounds like a Nobel prize winner to me!
i don't understand why we would need any resource fork support when everything works beautyfully now (i use dropbox on 2 macs, 1 pc, 1 linux computer). wouldn't those resource fork files just scr*w everything up on the other platforms? as with those usb memories i used before dropbox was invented, where every folder was full of useless files beginning with ._

or am i missing something here?
I almost start crying of joy when I see that I'm not alone in this world... Capacitive touch screens are completely unusable. Especially if you happen to be a lady with long nails. Pointing with a nail is exact and comfortable, you don't need any stylus -- but it can only be done on resistive screens. I'm soooo happy that the HTC Touch Diamond(s) have a resistive screen, and that Nokia N900 will have it too. Gives me at least *some* choice in this bleak world of capacitive screens.
"...low-end phones fabricated from Slave/Chinese workers..."

Then don't buy a cheap, low-end Nokia phone -- buy a high-end Nokia phone (i.e. the N-series), which is produced by highly paid Finnish workers with 6 weeks of paid vacation a year, 11 months maternity leave, (almost) free health care, free education from grade 1 to university, and so forth -- but don't complain about how much the phone costs!
Nokia N800, definitely. I used to have a Palm m505, loved that too, but now it's outdated, unfortuntely. The Nokia N800 has two memory card slots, a VERY good screen, reads PDF:s very fast (zooming the text is no problem), plus it has WiFi (i.e email and web browsing), games, radio, and so on. Since it's a Linux system you get more and more applications for it all the time. And: it's not extremely expensive, at least not compared to many other gadgets. Still it's relatively small and easy to carry around even in a tiny handbag.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
