How exactly does one read a deer?
My favorite post was when Ryan Block left.
Actually, most of these knock offs are made in the same exact factory that the parts for the "real deal" things are made in and more still are assembled by the same exact people who assemble the "real deal" things as well. The key price differences are the local economy and how cheap labor costs are combined with the lack of needing to recoup major developmental costs.
"What do you mean am I compensating for something?! Pfff, no...."
Neat! This is pretty much exactly what the Star Trek Technical manual says the holodeck does!
Cue the "You're mad! Apple designs are way better than this rip off!" responses in 3....2....1....
It's about time I had a laptop that was going to turn into a paperweight when the battery fails! I mean, before, I had the inconvenience of buying a new battery and continuing to use my laptop in a portable setting, but now, wooo-buddy, I can just skip that nuisance and buy a brand spankin new laptop to replace my would-be-functional-in-the-field laptop whose battery no longer holds a charge!

So, I bet all the inevitable "replace it yourself" battery kits will void the warranty, huh? I always hated non-replaceable batteries in toys as a kid, why is it these things keep creeping into my high-tech toys now?
I would make it not ugly... in fact, I would make it not exist and just release the Touch HD with Android and a US compat 3g radio. Skip all the built in obsolescence and just make something that does everything really well from the start.

This is probably why I will never be in charge of a corporation's business plans.
So, how long until I can buy a replacement screen and stick it in my old PSP?
This is the first time I've looked at an Apple product and gone "Wow, that actually is quite stylish and not excessively overhyped." Unfortunately, the impractical extra screen where you can't see it as well as the extra webcam just seem stupid. Even though this is a concept, I'd be willing to bet that, just like any other Tech-Art hybrid that Apple has plopped out, it'll be over priced for what it offers.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
