Ahh, another "innovate" Nintendo product. Seriously though, I hate all this gimmicky crap Nintendo's been releasing ever since the the Wii released, what's next? Are they going to stick a force sensor in a basketball so we can have virtual slam dunk contests?
to Setnev,

Doesn't the new DSi have decreased battery life compared to the DS? You must be a Nintendo fanboy, all the points that you made about the PSP, slimmer at cost of battery life, releasing in random colors etc, is exactly what the DSi is doing. Heck, you are losing GBA support witht he DSi compared to the DS. So what if the PSP got a mic, Nintendo added a random camera. Don't nitpick at the PSP and point out the realtive "crappy versions" when Nintendo is doing the same shit.
16gb more than I currently have!
Valid point, but for that amount of coin, you might as well get a desktop.
Nice, I wonder what the battery life on this thing is.
GIVE ME!
Damn ieye, your a dumb motherfucker.

Your comparison makes no sense, your comparing a product to a manufacturer. Go stick that pickle up your ass, and for future references, if you're going to go as far as spelling the word Shit, don't pussy out by adding an e.
But there's no real improvement. Nintendo has been releasing a newly colored DS every couple of months with special bundles etc. If they put more money into creating a new hand held, we wouldn't be reading about an DSi, we would be waiting for a next gen DS 2. Also, if the new DSi comes with a camera, and developers start making use of it, it will affect what games can be played on the old DS. This is just Nintendo doing what they do best, milk their product line with stupid special editions, and iterations of the same console, even weeks/months before a new one comes out. Just give me a next gen DS already, not more iterations.
It's also called fucking over the consumer, although yours sounds more pleasant.
Once again, Nintendo is trying to milk the DS for all it's worth before they release the DSi. I wonder how many parents will pick this up for Christmas, then shit a brick when their kid asks for the DSi a few months later.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
