Jun 15th 2008 12:51PM I disagree. When I buy something, I want to own it, and not pay a subscription instead. The reason you said it would be a "dream for developers" is the exact reason it would be bad for us: subscriptions leach much more money than one-time purchases. Also, dumb terminals as you describe them were found much more commonly in the past (on college campuses, mostly), when computing power was expensive . The opposite is now becoming true.
