Wow! I thought every woman wanted Mel Gibson and here she is giving him the old heave-ho. So, the dude was having an affair. What else is new. Studs like that can't help but have a few flings with the way women are always waving their little behinds at him. As soon as most women see Mel Gibson, they break into a sweat. Robyn should understand that much. She'll probably be sorry when she does, because she probably isn't going to find another Mel Gibson anytime soon. She probably married him before he became famous, so she lucked into a good thing. Now she'll take half of his money away and relax for the rest of her life. So all you jealous, desperate women out there, now's your chance. Oh, he'll cheat on you, too. No one woman is enough for THE ROAD WARRIOR.

Nehalem Mac Pros will rule the desktop roost. Be the first on the block to own one and you can spit on your Windows using neighbors. Maybe not. That would be a waste of good spit.
Haaaaha. You spelled a word wrong. Everyone caught it so it's the dunce cap for you.
Palm fail? That's impossible. Whoever heard of a completely Open Source OS device failing. There are no restrictions of any app type. If you desire to develop an app it will run on a Palm device and everyone will be completely happy. No controls, nobody to police you. The iPhone platform is like putting shackles on a world-class sprinter. No way is he gonna win with those heavy chains of restriction holding him back.

Palm must have about 25,000 apps by now and they're all claimed to be far superior to any iPhone app. You can have a dozen programs of any type multitasking in the background. How can Palm be losing market share? Don't worry, once all the disgruntled ex-iPhone developers leave Apple, they'll go to Palm and teach Apple a thing or two about how to run a proper platform. Go Palm, stage that comeback.
It's not a matter of that the iPhone doesn't have appeal in India. It's a matter of affordability. I'd love to buy a Lambo Gallardo but I don't have the money. The iPhone sells for what it sells for and if the wages in India are low, then they'll just have to buy some other vendor's cellphone.

Nokia has been selling handsets in India for a long time and chances are that's what people will be buying. An unlocked Nokia E61 seems like an affordable choice for them in place of the iPhone.

Apple isn't to blame for this. Blame India's localized economy.
But who's to say it still isn't possible in the future. Apple may be designing some very critical apps for the iPhone right now. Navigation software for one and maybe speech input as another. Remember, the more iPhones that are sold, the more money it can make off one piece of software. If Apple creates a popular $15 app and 20 million users download it, that's some pretty decent revenue. I'm still waiting on the miracle that Apple will deliver an iPhone killer app that can't be duplicated on any other mobile platform.

I didn't realize that Apple was losing money from poor margins. I thought they were buying in such quantity that they were getting price breaks. If they can charge enough for their products and enough people are willing to buy them, they still come out ahead.

Well even if the big numbers don't materialize in the App Store, Apple still has the whole SYSTEM thing working for them.
I wish Apple could use some of that money to purchase a game company that can design some exclusive games for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Good ones, of course.

It is a pity that all that money is just sitting there for Apple and investors aren't getting any use from it. If Apple would go back up to $200 a share then I wouldn't care, but it would be nice to have some of that cash working for investors now that the stock is weak and looks to stay weak for some time.
If anyone had seen her in the first Star Trek movie, you'd never believe she was the same person. She was so slim and trim back then. I'm not making fun of her now, I'm just making a comparison. Being overweight is no laughing matter and some people find keeping their weight down very difficult to control. I know she said at one time that stress makes her eat. I'm just the opposite. When I'm stressed out, I have to force myself to eat.

I hope Kristie Alley finds some way to control her weight before it takes a serious toll on her health. Maybe she should do what Star Jones did and get that stomach-bypass procedure if it can help her.
I purchased a new 15" MacBook Pro C2D 2.33 when it first came out. Only now am I seeing signs of it having what I consider minor problems. Every once in a while on hot days, the left fan makes noise and then it quiets down. A few months ago the built-charger stopped working. It's not the battery because I bought a spare recently and that won't charge on the built-in charger either. I purchased an OWC external charger and use that now to keep the batteries fresh. I tried all the PMU and PRAM resets and all the tips that are supposed to work didn't.

I've used the MacBook Pro constantly daily for hours and hours on end for all this time and I still am amazed about the quality of it. I'm still using the original harddrive and OS that has never been re-installed. This was it's XBench score then: http://db.xbench.com/merge.xhtml?doc1=256778 which was in the top five at the time.
It's been eclipsed by the newer, faster models, but it's still very respectable.

The gray plastic finish where my wrists rest is getting worn a bit but overall the finish is very clean. It has been one of the finest Macs I've ever owned out of five or so. This MacBook Pro has been what I consider a workhorse and so far it hasn't let me down. I'm going to either eventually get repairs on it or I'll just buy a faster model and use both.

I use my MacBook Pro to watch cable TV via Slingbox, I watch downloaded movies and Flash movies and I've got thousands of MP3 songs which I play for hours. It gets nonstop use.

It runs BootCamp with Windows XP and also VMWare Fusion with Windows XP. This MacBook Pro can do it all and I honestly think I got my money's worth so far.
You fail to understand that no matter what Steve Jobs says, it's up to investors to believe him. If they don't believe him, then Apple's stock will not move up. This is providing it's Steve Jobs health that is holding it down. I've heard so many reasons as to Apple's stock weakness, that it's hard to know the real reason.

Every little rumor can depress Apple's stock price. Apparently very few investors now have any faith at all in Apple even though it's handsomely rewarded investors over the past five years or so.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
