@(Unverified) I've been saying that since the deadmoo image.
I guess the webdevs' never heard of AJAX...
Apple, you have until I can buy this to make something better. Right now its between this and the Archos 5 Android (160GB).
I was trying to decide between the archos A5S and this. I guess living in canada decided for me eh?
I don't understand why everyone wants eSata so bad. eSata is the worst idea in the history of ports in my opinion. Why would you make a port with only data and no power? I can't understand this. Firewire comes standard with the ability to provide anywhere from 5 to 30V, eSata should have this as well. Although I'm not sure if they exist yet, however, a FW800 or 1200 HD enclosure would be much more practical
You know palm regularly releases their GSM phones unlocked directly from their site right? When this happens I'll likely buy two, I strongly believe in a backup phone (I carry a bold and a jav usually)
btw, lots of features doesn't mean something has to be hard to use. Consider the iPhone, there are litterally hundren of thousands of people that are not tech savy that have them but you don't hear them saying it has to many features. Furthermore, look at the number of teenagers buying smartphones now. I know enough people that didn't even know what WiFi GPS or Bluetooth were, yet they are walking around with $500+ phones with these features.

Are you saying then, there should be no more smartphones because there are stupid / tech unsavy people that cannot use them?
Then, why do you believe TiVo can't add alot of features, but make it simple enough for anyone to use? This is a MAJOR selling point for Macs as even though Mac OSX is based on BSD (which is arguable more complicated to use than DOS / Windows) apple added a nice interface and made it easy to use.

Why can't TiVo do this?

Anyway, can we send this to TiVo as an open letter? I don't want to see another DVR leave TiVO HQ without these features. TiVo isn't competitive anymore consider most providers will rent you a DVR with all the features TiVo has for free if you qualify. Why would anyone want to add $15 a month to there cable bill to get less than what they would with a regular provider? I have the TiVo S3 in canada (I know its not supported here) and I can't get HD on it. Why am I paying tive monthly when I can get a free HD rogers DVR
Aw man, I was so dying to get one of these too. I hope if they go out they liquidate, I'll probably buy a model one if the price is right
Nice, I hope this gets released with some sort of HD IPTV. I've been dying to get my hands on the TiVo S3 (The premium one) But the cable cards won't work in canada so its useless to me.
The only reason I am (was?) considering the Homeserver over the time capsule is the ability to have multiple drives, if this doesn't have it either A) I'll get the old one, B) I'll roll my own C)I'll get the time capsule.

Does anyone know if the old one has any sort of expansion other than USB? I'd be nice to throw in a 802.11n card and make this a router.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
