I certainly don'y understand the 'demand is encouraging' bit.....

Every new PC or Laptop comes pre-loaded with Vista!!!!!

The consumer does'nt have a choice.......or maybe they do, but ar'nt being told........hmmmmm

4 billion NET profit on 13 billion turnover is staggering. How's about spreading the wealth gentlemen?
Microsoft's current answer to the Wii....

I say current, because there will probably be another 4 Sku's this time next year.
Just my opinion, but if MS are to turn the 360 into a real media centre, then they would have to totally change the look of it before i'd buy one.

There is no way I would have something that looks like that, next to my TV in my living room.
@ ycabrera ^ ^

Ok, so how come Microsoft has a monopoly over operating systems?!

For MS to say they don't want anyone to monopolise anything basically adds up to the biggest pot and kettle ever.....in the world.....of all time!!!!!!!!!
@ Dave ^ ^

I think you know he's talking about the XBox360.......lol
I'm sold now.

Can't wait to get my mits on one. It's a total bargain in my opinion.

Looking forward to Rachet&Clank, Uncharted:Drakes Fortune, Folklore, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and Haze for this holiday season! Then next year Final Fantasy XIII, Gran Turismo 5, Metal Gear Solid 4, Resistance 2 and Killzone 2!!!!!!!!!!

Also ordered The Simpsons Blu-ray to watch aswell as the Spidey 3 Blu-ray.

I can not wait!!! VERY happy times! :)
These look way too cool for the kind of people that post on here! lol

(it's a joke by the way)
@ John Doe ^^

And we all know how expensive the iPhone is......

Sony should have a new slogan: Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
@ Jeff ^^

But you can't say the XBox360 has a web browser when it certainly does not!!!! LOL

XBOX360 DOES NOT HAVE A WEB BROWSER.
Nope.

The 80gig will become the 'mainstream' PS3 eventually. This won't affect price as 80gig 2.5" SATA HD's are more commonly used than the 60gigs.

As for backwards compatability, it is ONLY THE 40GIG PS3 that won't support it. The 60 and 80 gigs will continue to support it, and firmware 2.00 is said to increase backward compatability even more.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a 12- or 13-inch ultraportable that can also play modern games at a reasonable level, for less than $1,000. I know the brainiacs out there can help me out. Love the site, thanks!"
