My phone just offered me the update this morning. It seems a lot snappier on my G1, and all of the new stuff seems to work well.
That gets me short prompts, but when I call my voicemail from an outside line, there's still a T-Mobile message between my greeting and the beep. Thanks for trying.
Just got off the phone with a T-Mobile CSR. The good word is that there's a checkbox in their system that would allow them to disable it, but the aforementioned checkbox is disabled itself and apparently they can't do anything about opening it up. Whoo.
Well, "the capability to upload photo to Facebook" is what I've always yearned for.
Proofing ftw.
According to some forum info from early 2008, they plan to support Qt, but it will exist outside of the GTK+ UI, as a 3rd-party app would on the previous tablets.
Their site says the API is "not frozen," which means that they're subject to change. To developers, this means that they might have to change the calls their application places to the APIs after such a change. I don't know if that's what Engadget means by "unlocked," but it seemed a bit misleading to me.
Who would anyone enter a bet where they stood to win a contract for a monolithic, outmoded CDMA carrier?
XP is nice.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
