This is the business version. the 8300 is the "consumer" version and has a camera (but no gps)

I have been waiting for a new wifi BB. unfortunately, it looks like I have to carry data plans to use the wifi. I was hoping to dump all my windows mobile PDA's in favor of wifi BB's, but these users don't need phone/data service, just connectivity in the building. I'm disappointed, RIM.
thank you Josh.

Seriously, if we BB admins thought that we could get the same security and usability out of a cheaper solution, don't you think we would use it? Win mobile is a poor excuse for a mobile solution and a security hole wider than the grand canyon. I'll take my chances with RIM (I like to walk on the wild side)
I'm assuming you hae an 8703e and not an 8307e. I believe that the upcoming 8300 series is reported to have a camera.

And no slider keyboards!! no need to mess with a design that just works. I wouldn't want my beloved BB falling apart like some of the junk devices that run Windows mobile.
This will sound vain, but the Zune is ugly. Someone else already stated that people like the ipod because it is stylish and small. Techno geeks are going to compare features and choose based on what has the features, but the general public chooses the device that looks nicest and is easy to carry around. And besides that, people don't want to have to switch platforms. Isn't that how MS beat down Mac? they aren't compatible and MS got the jump on it. I don't think MS is going to win this time. you win some, you lose some.

"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
