The Apple Store Online is back, so what's different? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Oct 20th 2009 3:58PM This is a minor addition, but did Apple release a new MagSafe power supply for 13" MBPs and MacBooks today?

With the iPhone 3.1 update little things mean a lot {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Sep 10th 2009 10:46AM What Boilerblues said :)
I had a 1G iPhone, the battery of which started to quickly deteriorate in the spring, just shy of 2 years after I received it. Once 3.0 came out, it lasted only an hour or two each day, even if I had the phone off in my office as I worked. I took it to the Apple Store and they checked it for me at the Genius Bar and verified that the battery was almost dead. I paid my $75 or so to get the battery replaced and walked out of the store in 10 minutes with a brand new 1G iPhone. The battery life has been terrific since.

Ask Engadget: Best Bluetooth mouse out there? {Engadget}

I picked up the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 last weekend and find it's great: not too expensive, terrific accuracy, and good battery life. The rechargeable AAA batteries I've got will help keep the cost of ownership down, too.
Getting started with Times, an RSS reader for everyone {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Apr 14th 2009 1:29PM I picked up Times as part of MacHeist this year and really like it so far, with one caveat: refreshing the feeds takes a really long time. Whenever I start the app it takes a few minutes for it to stop beachballing and become responsive, and whenever it refreshes the feeds (every 10 minutes) it slows down dramatically again. It could just be one problematicfeed, but I do wish that the app could handle it better. Other than those periodic slowdowns Times is a great little program for keeping up with news you like...

Mac 101: Spaces for your screen and brain {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Mar 28th 2009 3:22AM Sorry about that - my comment above ommitted the words "Control" and "arrow" from both sides of the "+" signs. That's what I get for surrounding those words with characters that made them look like HTML tags. Doh!
Mac 101: Spaces for your screen and brain {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Mar 28th 2009 3:17AM At first I had no idea what to use Spaces for and never used it. But I found I needed an easy way to switch back and forth with my VMWare XP machine (Unity didn't fit my needs well). I found someone else's idea online and used it: dedicate VMWare to one of your spaces, then run the machine in fullscreen on that space. That way, whenever the machine is running, I can hit + and immediately be in fullscreen XP. Whenever
I'm done mucking around in Windows (which I always hope isn't long), I can hit + and be thrown back into the warm and safe arms of fullscreen OS X. It works perfectly, and has shown me that Spaces can fit my needs pretty well.

Mar 15th 2009 3:16PM Based on a Macworld article I checked out GrandPerspective a few months ago. It's a pretty simple free utility that scans any directory (or disk) and displays all of its contents in a tree map to show relative file size and disk usage. Based on its findings I then go through my hard drive and delete unwanted huge files. It's a quick, free way to clean up my drive.
