How about Peer Impact that gives its end users up to a 5% system credit for uploading data on thier closed p2p network .

http:\www.peerimpact.com

This creates an incentive for users to leave their clients open and resources available to the network .
Mark does have venture capital in Red Swoosh.... a p2p company
Jason I hope you asked the guy who made the PEZ MP3 Player to take a look at your little project Hes an independant developer who works out of his basement .The type of guy who would be interested in such a project and has done it before .

Walmart may be one of thefew companioes that can force the studios to lower thier prices and create a Netflix style download service .

Walmart currently provides about 45% of the Movie studios total revenue ....just in DVD sales .

Peer Impact is an independent service based in Saratoga Springs,New York so you can imagine the challenges they have in getting content from Hollywood.Remember Cinemanow and Movielink are owned by the Studios and are not p2p .

The TV shows have been a disappointment with only 4 TV series available at this time .I hope that is fixed next year as Peer Impact moves forward .

As for movies I hope Peer Impact becomes the Netflix of movies because they have a great distribution system and a killer business model .

People wont use p2p to distribute commerical content unless they get somthing back .With Peer Impact they get a system credit everytime they upload a piece of content they have purchased .

In the case of games users can receive a system credit on Game Demos they have download if someone decides to purchase that game at a later date .

Free content dos'nt receive a system credit but you get what I call "Karma" and the Peer impact algorithm makes sure you get a slight preference when it is choosing sources for a download of paid content .
I need a new Camera
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
