I have a druid that was dinged to 60 via refer a friend. After outfitting the toon out, I headed out to battlegrounds to learn how to heal. I have Grid, and it is fairly easy. I have a shaman and priest healer as well. I loath healing BGs with my shaman, but the priest and druid are fairly easy.
I hated that achievement as well. Getting 40 turkeys was probably one of the worst experiences I have had in WoW, ever. Though, Thanksgiving and the day after it was easy to get, since the population seemed pretty low.

For my main character, I went for the pet and title. The gold from dailies was less than I could normally get, and I didn't get any rep with factions since my main is exalted already. I love new pets... and I like to complete the events... otherwise, it was kind of meh, from my mains point of view.

As for my ALTS... This event rocked.
The 10% rep bonus was nice for my alts. I'd get that, then do the daily quests, then go off and quest some more.

Being able to burn your cooking to 355 was just great. Many of my alts can now cook well. Not sure if I will do much beyond what they have, but I have started doing a few of the cooking dailies on my alts. Getting my main to that point, was a horrible task. I loved how easy it was this way!

The rep was nice for completing the dailies. The XP/Rep seemed a bit low... Especially for a globtrotting quest... but it was ok, ultimately.

I made probably 60+ gold selling cooking mats and porting people with my mage. I would jump on, and port my girlfriend around and I had a macro that announced that I would port people and sell items.
Yea, the 350 cooking rules.

Fighting people for Turkeys, has got to be one of the most frustrating things I have ever done in this damn game.

At one point, I had to quit playing for a while, I got so frustrated.
I have an account, and my friend has an account. My girlfriend has two accounts, and one of hers is a 72 Paladin. So, the lvl 72 paladin was used to pull us through DM, Stocks, SM, then ZF/ST, then whatever dungeon after that point. Honestly, up through ZF is easy. Then, at 55, you can portal to Ramparts.

But, this was all separate accounts.
We just did this with our friends. Got the signed up, and started. When they started, I had a lvl 30, lvl 67 and lvl 80 on my acct. I now have the same 3, but I also now have 5 lvl 60+ and 2 lvl 56. It was GREAT for creating a large stable of ready to go leveled characters.

Though, as the article pointed out, you hit 60 with nothing. My 56 mage has whites and greys from lvl 5 still. My rogue hit 60 in the same shape, and I went out and bought all new items for him. I also have a bunch of BoA items spread across my characters. 1 cloth set, 1 plate set, 1 mail (caster) set, 1 leather caster set, 1 leather DPS set. Not to mention a bunch of weapons and trinkets and all.
This would be cool.
I have been wanting to read the WoW lore for a while.
Would LOVE one of these! Especially, since my mouse has been having some issues of late!!!
Count me in.
Heh, I remember grinding out the last 2 levels to get my mount near Theramore on those stupid Murlocks. Then, I had to get a small loan from a guildie that I paid back within 2 days. :-) It was amazing.

I also remember being in a queue for over an hour. I remember seeing the count down to 5 people in front ,and my PC spontaneously rebooting... putting me to the end of the queue (It was about this time, that I quit playing, the first time).

I remember playing on my PvP server, having hordes of alliance ganking me all over STV... then, calling in one of my friends from the guild, and he wiped the two groups, without a problem. I think that night, we had 3 guildies control STV for all the Horde players.

What about the epic back and forth between South Shore and Taren Mill? Who can forget THOSE... back when PvP was just world PvP, no battle grounds. No honor system... you just fought to kill another player, or mess up their day.

I came on the day the game released, and I remember seeing Tauren ALL over the place. That starting zone was FULL.

I also remember my first guild, that was not built up from just friends. The Pandern Order. We later assimilated into another guild that had been started by my friends, the Tater Heads. :-)

I remember a lot of fun... a LOT of frustration with the lack of servers... and VERY high queue waits.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a 12- or 13-inch ultraportable that can also play modern games at a reasonable level, for less than $1,000. I know the brainiacs out there can help me out. Love the site, thanks!"
