I couldn't agree more! I've had the Dutch version of the R2H for a month and a half now, and it's a great little tool.

Yeah, it's very slow out of the box, but the kind of person who buys a device like this is knowledgable and opinionated enough to tweak it anyway, no matter how fast it comes out of the box :D

The software itself is so-so at best and not for the faint of heart. There's plenty of odd, proprietary stuff packed in there as it is, and most of it isn't very intuitive.

As for the hardware? I loooove it! Fantastic design, very nice screen, all the ports you could want, GPS... BT and webcam on particular units... I'm quite pleased.

I use mine every day. I'm a journalist, and this is a great way to keep all my appointments, contacts, documents, etc. in one place. I also don't have to sacrifice much in the way of power and usability over my regular laptop. And functions like note taking and reading the paper are a lot more fun then with other devices.

I love my R2H.
Here's another Dutch guy. I hadn't seen the ads before reading this, but if I *had* seen them, I certainly wouldn't have come to the conclusion that these are in any way racist.

Racism does exist in Holland - but one can find racists in every nation, every culture, and even within the same ethnic groups. But in general, we Dutch are a very multi-cultural and ethnically diverse nation.

I'm white as a snowflake. One of my aunts is from Curacao and is black as night. My grandfather was German, my mother is Frisian, my neighbours are Turkish, most of my friends are American... it's all good. Anyone who's been here will agree that the Dutch react far different to ads like this.
I want it so bad, I can almost taste it :D

This sounds aaaaawesome.
I actually *own* a Zaurus - a C1000, identical except for internal memory - and it's *awesome*

Guys, this ain't no damn PDA - it's a small computer. I can hook up my external drives through USB, plug in a mouse, and I'm working. I even have stuff like the Gimp and OpenOffice on there and an actual desktop. You can install several flavours of linux on it from basic PDA stuff to hardcore console-coding Debian shit. Can your Pocket PC do *that*?

If anyone doubts the Zaurus is kicking ass, you come and visit the OESF forum at http://www.oesf.org/forums/ and we'll show you what a Zaurus is really capable of.
I've got an 'old' DS - and yeah... I'm going to buy a Lite as well.

The old was, IMO, just too heavy, large and awkward to use on the road for quite a few games. Try playing Rogue Agent, on a moving train, while holding the DS with one hand... I got tired of that pretty damn quick. That's why I take my PSP with me instead of my DS (that, and the better games)

At least the Lite will be a bit more playable and easier to carry. Plus, iPod white really does make it look nice instead of the cheap grey plastic of the old one.
It's about bloody time they started selling them. I've wanted a device like this for ages. I primarily use my Pocket PC for reading, and I really want to get something that's a bit better suited to it with larger screen, better battery life, easier on the eyes etc.

I'm definitely getting one.
No way in hell would I even *consider* buying it. This is basically just a fancy set of speakers with the standard remote. Hell, I could buy that universal dock, the remote, buy a $200 set of speakers and *still* have money left over and a better feature set.
Not even one of those custom Vaja jobbys will cost you a 100 bucks. My god, Apple's gone totally fucking insane.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
