Is the price point really that bad? I know we go over these comments but they still stand true ...

1) Kid wants a new game console
2) Dad/family wants a new DVD/BD player

= PS3. This was how I made my decision and in the end much more flexibility than 1 other console plus a new player.

Funny how all these people that are not interested in Home or are pissed off about a "Free" feature added to the operating system - still come here and write how they are not interested LOL.

So will this be playable in single player mode? Or will it be too hard? I really dont have the time or "buddies" to play this online with...
Btw I started with the PS original RE1 & 2, then did not play any until RE4 - which for me, was a good game.

There are too many good games now releasing that bc is not a concern of mine anymore.

And I have tried to read as much as I can about LBP and I still cannot for the life of me see the big deal????
So LBP is just a platformer style game that anyone can design levels for? So is the fun in playing or making stuff?

PS3 can use the Linux if you load MediaTomb - no need for XP. Although the HD is smallish for media.

Why does this have to be based on a hard lifetime cycle? The PS1 was Sonys first game machine and it it put Sega out of the market, and this was the start of the 32 bit console. This machine could play CDs. Then Sonys PS2 came in at the turn of DVDs and improved over the PS1. Now that the PS3 is out and was way ahead of its time with the cell and BD, I dont think that basing a 2 console time release frame is fair.
This time around the slower adoption makes people think that the PS3 is still "new." We still yet to have mass BD adoption also.
So think of it another way - let MS bring out a new console before Sony, see what they do and how people react to it then have a new PS4 come out 12-18 months later that trounce it! Think whats more than 360? back to zero LOL.

Any ebook reader needs to have some type of way to write in the margin or right on the page. Books and Newspapers let you do this and are still cheaper.

Why? Stop messing about with all these different formats and lets just stick to the ones we have, and the ones that current players can read - CD, DVD and BDR.
