It isn't just the voice work that costs - it's the licensing of the images. Think about the cost of an icon. Now think about the cost of 49 of them for drinks.
Now think about the cost of somewhere between 500 and 1000 icons, knowing that a basic working vocabulary is around 700 words - it's a huge cost.

Add to that the time and work spent determining menu paths so that you don't ever go backwards up a hierarchical tree, and the project becomes a huge and expensive undertaking.

I should note that there was some very very early work at an application of this sort for the Sugar OS (Linux) based OLPC - but that this work has yet to amount to anything useful.
A/C off, windows up.

Also, Sept. 8 is Tuesday, not Monday.

Course, you can save a lot of money on gas if you miss your meetings due to calendar date confusion... :)
boo. I'm disappointed that a2dp isn't present in the original iPhone.
I would use HanDBase to catalog the nutritional value of foods at the restaurant and grocery, so that I have a better record of not just what's on the menu out in the world, but what I'm actually ingesting and feeding my children.

I'd also like to catalog my comic book collection that's sitting at my dad's house since I moved out. Arguably, he'd like me to catalog it even more :)
The tunebuds fit has a cable that doesn't tangle.
The problem with the AnyCom solar car kit, and possibly this Nextar unit is that they only remember pairing with one phone at a time.

The reality is, I sometimes drive my wife's car. Why can't both our phones be paired with it?
EarPeace LiveWires.

They take impressions from your ears that you get made any any audiologist's office for cheap and turn them into musical monitors that fit your ear canal. I love mine, there's nothing like them.
Another vote for Billable.
It's great that Adobe has made such efforts to try and make their proprietary tool work so well. The essence of the internet is one that is open, not proprietary. It's one that is accessible to people of a wide range of abilities (sight, hearing limited) and one that was originally intended to be human-readable - html.

Please, if you must try and create a desktop application experience in a browser, use tools that follow the goals of the internet with regard to openness - have a look at http://280slides.com and see what they're doing with javascript, for example.

Of course, you're writing to meet your clients' needs, and that's good - but please don't wish proprietary flash players on the rest of us who want no part of them. Definitely don't attempt to require it of us.
By Kelmon's way of thinking, all one has to do to make the ASA's view correct is make a website in a way that a browser cannot parse it without Magic Plugin™ - and even if it's only used on one site, the claim is now incorrect. This makes very little sense.

I don't care how many sites Flash is used on - Flash is not the internet, the web is HTML/DHTML/XHTML/javascript, and the rest is optional fluff - as proven because you need to actively install a plugin in order to access the optional stuff. Just because some nitwit of a designer decides to require it does not change the definition of the 'whole internet.'
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
