I already use Gorilla mobile for my cell phone, but the rate still can't beat the rate I get on my VOIP line. I already pay less than $10 a month for my VOIP line and I can direct dial internationally with the lowest rates I can find. I like the elegance of the T-mobile solution and it may be more reliable, but as long as they are going to offer VOIP with standard carrier international rates there's not much point to it if I still have to use a dial around service for most of my calls.
I like the idea of this service. I still have a VOIP land-line because I make a lot of international calls and the international rates for most VOIP companies are extremely low. However, while $10 a month for unlimited domestic calling is pretty good you still have to deal with T-mobile's ridiculously high international calling rates. In some cases T-mobile actually charges more to call a country than they do to roam in that same country. Until they get their international rates in line with other VOIP companies this service will lack one of the key selling points of every other VOIP services.
Since when Does SONYericsson use microSD memory. It would be nice if it did but I assume its a misprint and it actually uses Memory stick micros instead. If not then that's bigger story than the phone itself.
everything I've read about what Comcast is doing seems to say checking "required encryption" makes no difference. Anyway, I have Comcast in Atlanta and I too have noticed a slow down. The other day I did an experiment while downloading a torrent. On my straight Comcast connection a torrent I was downloading was topping out around 50 Kb/s so I stopped it down and opened up my Relakks VPN account and restarted the torrent. The download speed almost instantly jumped up to 128Kb/2+.
Unless they are using the same giant hand model that Apple used in their later adds that thing looks smaller than the iPhone.
Maybe it will have T-Mobile USA 3G compatibility because I don't think AT&T will be selling this phone. Us T-mobile customers can only hope.
BTW here is a link to the Atlanta DTA force;

Lunatrik is correct. They have been doing this in Atlanta for years. The Atlanta "Downtown Ambassadors" ride Segways around Downtown and give tourist and convention goers information and directions so I'm not sure why it is news that Orlando is doing it too.
One phone to rule them all!
I have wanted this phone for awhile now.
I shure would like to have a pair of these for my ipod.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
