Jun 13th 2007 4:20PM According to stats put out by the US government (yes, I know, they are a big purveyor of misinformation), a person has about a 1 in one million chance of being shot and killed by a gun. A person has a 1 in 75,000 chance of drowning in a private pool.
And before you all go off on me. Yes, I personally know 2 people whose children drowned in pools at day care providers' houses that were properly "secured". I don't know anyone who have been killed by guns.
Don't get me wrong. I still think guns should all be properly secured. I just think people sometimes forget there are other problems in this world that need to be addressed.
