I had this phone for a day. I would love to own it again but they have to fix somthing. I tested this phone out in the Verizon store and it had the sound quality I liked. But when I got into the car the volume was going up and down on it's own with out me pushing the volume buttons. I reutrned it for another and I think I found the issue (not fact) Even if the volume of the ear piece is on low if it hears background noise it raises the volume so loud that you can't turn it down because the volume is at it's lowest. When you first get the part on the line it's low then it goes loud on it's own if there is background noise.

This is how I came to this conclusion When I was testing my 2nd phone out I was having a converstaion wiith a friend in the store with the volume down at it's lowest (the way I like it) when I went outside the volume went full blast with out any adjusmtnet on my own. This happened on two phones

I hope they will fix with because I really liked that phone and as with most Verizon phones the sound quality is terrable. I am still using an old vx8300 from LG but I would like visual voice mail. So anyway let's hope Nokia fixes it.
LET ME CLEAR UP THE FIRST PARGRAPH IT WAS TYPED WRONG

Today when I was in traffic the garmin had it on the screen that
there was an accident. at the time I did not know I had this
hardware error in the magallan. (can't detect tmc please reset) The
only way you find out is if you go into settings and push the traffic
button) Due to this error this accident was not on the screen. This
morning while going to Miami the Garmin had the congestion from where
it started to where it ended. The magallan had it start 2 exits
further from where I was. The Location from where I was stuck was on
the Garmin screen and not the magallan.

Like I said I will continue to look for traffic and test these 2
unit's out

This is my 3rd 4370 magallan. The first one the voice was choppy, the 2nd one I kept on getting reset unit can't detect tmc hardware, and it also froze while drivng. This third one actually works with no freeze ups however today I got that tmc hardware error again :(

Well for 2 days I've been driving side by side with a 755t Garmin unit. In a nutshell I really want to love this magellan unit. But I think I'm going to keep the Garmin.

Pro's of this unit

Great and fast POI Data base

I love the screen

You can look up by zip code

the advance notifcation is great

great repsonce when you are off course

Great graphics by a lot of exits

When in Detour it gives you option what route you want.

(I reallly want to love this unit.)

con's

When off course the garmin most of the time gave a better route.

Today when I was in traffic the garmin had it on the screen while this unit later on this afternoon without knowing it I later on found out that it tmc was not on due to that hardware error but this morning. I was stuck in traffic that the garmin had on the map and this unit also had it but it started 2 exits down from where I was stuck in traffic.

Today when stuck in traffic on a main road in Miami I used this unit to get me out and it kept telling me to make uturns in circles. The garmin wamted me to go a completely different route. Last nite I was on a route and on corse. This unit told me go up a back road only would have benifited me if there there was traffic on the main road. (this was not a reroute.)

When I'm in an area and I need to find somthing like a bank or restarunt this unit will only tell me how far it is while the Garmin will tell me how far and what direction. I really need that cause if I'm going to a bank West and the bank is a 3 miles away furthur in the direction I'm going in I'd rather do that then to uturn.

a lot of times the first recaluate is a uturn while the Garmin trys to make you go on the road without a uturn.

I will continue to test these two units out because i want to find a reason to keep it. I love the bells and whistles but so far on a practal level the Garmin is winning for my needs. One thing I can't accept is this stupid hardware error with the tmc.
Hey,

I'm not a big shipper. However in the 80's my family used ups all the time to ship uniforms from there business to other merchants. We never had trouble with UPS.

30 years later I use Fedex. I've never had trouble with them, Kinkos stays opened all night and fedex delevers on Sat. True there are more UPS Locations Now. But up to a few years ago you had to travel far for UPS. For me I also hate the color brown. So for convience of the 24 hour packing centers and the Saturday delivery I will vote for FEDEX. But don't get me wrong both companies are great!!!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
