i have a feeling there's nothing special or "enabling" about the nike+ enabled shoes other than a custom slot where you can put the transponder. which means that you can probably use it with any running shoe so long as the orientation to the ground is correct or whatever else is necessary for it to function.
I have a feeling this dual boot will mature to something a little more than where it is now.

1. you'll be able to set up a "share" partition that's FAT32 which can easily be read/write to from both OSs to easily send files back and forth (imagine a simple size slider in the original setup assistant).
2. you'll be able to "sleep" either OS and switch back and forth easily.

thoughts?
#2 agreed. i think what itunes needs is the ability to have subscription-by-subscription options. so for one id be able to have it only keep the one most recent and another id be able to keep all of them. seems very doable.
anyone received different service for ipod repair and different apple stores? im from MA and every store there and it's employees was extremely helpful in getting a broken ipod looked at. free. no cost. no "servicing" fee. $0. i went to one here in WI and the guy was a jerk, told me to set up the service myself and that it would be cheaper than for him to take care of it for me b/c id have to pay a $29 (dont remember exact cost) service fee for them deal with it for me. both ipods were under initial 1 year warranty. guy in WI said it was something all stores charged. anyone else?
dont have a new ipod. question though. has anyone tried encoding at ABOVE the spec listed and then manually placing the video file on their iPod? directories can be accessed via terminal or other ways. apparently the Broadcom chip supports much higher resolutions. just curious if maybe the spec Apple listed is due to file size/playback performance but maybe that is not an issue when you're doing video out. anyone able to try this?
Actually, what would rock is if someone would write a program to rip MPEG streams out of .tivo files. Getting them onto your mac is easy.
The point is, how many users, after downloading this "cool" and highly sought after program would think twice if when launching it, it asked for a password? I don't think very many would. It is a definite threat.
subscription model might work best. providers would offer numbered allocations for different amts. for example i would pay for the following: ESPN Package 1 $19.99/month Unlimited SportsCenter daily downloads (limit # d/l of same show) 10 HD Programs (variable length) ESPN Package 2 $9.99/month Unlimited SportsCenter daily downloads (limit # d/l of same show) 5 HD Programs (variable length) ESPN SC Package $5.99/month Unlimited SportsCenter daily downloads (limit # d/l of same show) let the networks pick what they want to provide for unlimited download or otherwise. for shows that are usually only watched once (news, be it sports, entertainment, world, etc.) those programs should be offered free daily with a purchase of a network package. oh and provide the downloads in full HD as well as smaller iPod friendly size downloads. it's a one time cost of time for the networks to create the downloads. automate it and it's an immediate source of revenue at really no additional significant cost. something along those lines i think would work out well for the providers and for the consumer. thoughts?
not a big user of podcasts. and i'll admit i was very skeptical of the whole video on iPod idea. still am actually. i do think it would be great if the same people who are providing podcasts do vodcasts or whatever they're called. personally id love a FREE version of SportsCenter downloaded to my iPod before the morning commute so i can watch it on the train. now THAT would be cool. hell, even included targeted ads in there to make someone think they're making money.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
