Joyswag: LittleBigBeta code giveaway, day five {Joystiq}
Oct 3rd 2008 10:31PM I don't have enough time for the LBP beta with school and other stuff. So yeah, I shouldn't have one, but I so want to anyway.

Judge declares mistrial in RIAA filesharing case, sets aside $222,000 verdict {Engadget}
Sep 25th 2008 4:03PM The craziest thing though is the amount. You could literally steal a bunch of CDs from a store, make copies of them and give them away, and you would still get charged less than $222,000 dollars in court for that because it wasn't distributed on the net.

Analysis: Microsoft offers "I'm a PC" retort that falls flat {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Sep 19th 2008 5:40PM You're missing the point. The way Apple promotes their product is by saying what it can do and how well, and then they show how much better it is from the alternative. In simpler words, Apple is saying "Macs can do this, as opposed to PCs, who struggle or can't do it at all".
Now what windows is saying with the new commercials is "I'm not that", then it goes on to say how other people are not as well. Don't you see how they missed the message entirely? Worst even is not that they're acknowledging Apple's commercials, but they do so at the expense of showing their own product.
This commercial is not intended so people buy a Microsoft product, only to deny Apple's commercials, which quite frankly is a waste of my time. I don't care what they're calling you.

Sep 16th 2008 8:43PM Following the footsteps of EA, I presume. It might bring more profit to the company, but quality and originality go out the window. Case in point, Madden and FIFA games, each year you're supposed to buy the new one cause now it has a couple of new things to try and an updated roster.
*sigh*
Oh, well...

Sep 15th 2008 12:40AM My thoughts exactly, Dale.
You make software for the competing platform out of necessity only. They pretty much just copy the code from mac to windows and fix up any thing that don't work correctly. Since the software wasn't developed with that specific software in mind, they're more prone to errors.
You might argue that Apple makes their software bad to get back at Windows, but I don't think that's true. If you look at the Apple software in Windows you'll see that they're exact copies of their Mac counterparts with every bit of functionality intact. Same goes for Office, although MSN Messenger has been pure crap on Mac.
Ask PS3 Fanboy: Volume 8 {PS3 Fanboy}
Sep 7th 2008 4:22AM Right, and hence my question. They took out the hardware that enabled PS2 playback to lower costs, but if they relied on pure software emulation to play PS2 games (in the same way they do with PS1 games), then they could keep the price down and we could have PS2 playback. They already released software that emulates the PS2's GPU (which they used for the 80GB PS3s), so why not invest a little more effort and emulate the whole thing?
But what PS3Fanboy said gives me an answer. Sony already spent a lot of time getting rid of PS2 playback and their focus seems to be on the new things coming up. So an emulator is unlikely (for the moment, at least). I'm gonna hold on to my PS2 for a little while longer.
Thanks for answering my question, PS3Fanboy.
