Well that kind of sucks. So much for my FED TV site. No FED, no big OLED no Kuro. What's left? More power to Canon and SED Inc.

Nice to see a demonstration like this. While FED does have it's challenges it appears that it will be available before either SED or OLED in a decent size. The price will initially be horrifying but you get what you pay for.

With the recent announcement of FED panel production by Sony spin-off FET, another player has entered the battle.

Finally, some good news on the FED front. Hopefully Canon will get the SED out there this year as well for some interesting competition.

Sony was the first to both bring out an OLED TV and to announce a major investment in the technology. This is an obvious next step for any of its competitors in the field. The question is who will be the first with a decent size OLED panel that can be used as the main TV in a home.
Well, the XEL-1 is the beginning of a revolution in flat panel TV. I guess CR decided to educate it's readers on OLED technology. Wait about 3 years and we'll see more reviews on appropriate sized OLED models.

I like the way you're thinking Wendy. Not much SED news lately though. Please contact me if you have any recent news. Thanks. By the way, if SED didn't rhyme with DEAD, would we have such negativity on that particular technology?

The more competition the better. Maybe I'll be able to buy one of these in 3 or 4 years for something approaching a reasonable price.

I've found that shared hosting from Hostmonster or Hostgator has been sufficient for my needs. Reseller hosting typically costs twice as much as the Yahoo deal but you generally get what you pay for.

It's out now. $2499 at select Sony Style retail stores. However, now Sony has said that they do not see a rapid growth in OLED TV production. Well, they're still first.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
