Unless I'm reading this wrong then calls aren't technically free. To make free landline and mobile calls, you need to get your friends to register with gizmo as well and they add their numbers to their profile. You can then call their landlines or mobiles for free - but if you want to call your mum or dad who may not be on gizmo then you still have to pay.

I think that they are hoping those who register their numbers will probably start using gizmo software to talk to each other...
i know h.264 compression is good, but it isn't that good!
got to fit mine tomorrow. i'm investing in one as scratches have started to appear, and i want to keep it as scratch-less as possible. I'll also be getting a case for it (probably a nice belkin one) as extra protection. probably wrap it in cotton wool as well :)
This might seem a little silly, but I've gone a bit retro and named my stuff after video games characters. My 15" PB is called 'Mario', a G4 tower called 'Luigi' and my iPod is named 'Yoshi'. Even my Nokia phone is called 'Koopa'. My wireless AP is named 'Mushroom Kingdom' as well. There's plenty of Super Mario Bros. characters to use if my network expands!
Installed fine with no problem. Also seems to have fixed a problem I had when loading Mail, as the dock icon would become invisible for a minute or so after loading. It's stopped doing it now though...
I've got a 4gb nano, and sometimes when changing the volume the wheel seems to freak out and bounce about, so the volume would go up and down very quickly. i think the wheel might be oversensitive but it only happens on a few occasions. other than that, it's faultless. now if only Apple could invent a non-scratching ipod...
iTunes is working a lot better for me know. I would have a few problems when searching my library, as it would only show about half the results for some reason. All seems well know - and the search is faster.
now this sounds more like what they should be offering. I like everything about .Mac, but one thing has stood in the way of me signing up (besides the cost) and that's gmail. They're offering 2GB of email space for free. I know they don't offer the same services as .Mac but if Apple were to offer the same, I'd sign up straight away. Right now, I am still a bit hesitant...
i liked what lord steve had said about party shuffle. It was random. If 2 artists appeared next to each other, then it just showed how random it could be. By controlling the randomness, you are essentially making it less random... geddit? watch the webcast of the event and he explains it better than i can!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
