Microsoft set to launch Surface SDK this month {Engadget}

Oct 7th 2008 12:11PM When are they going to put accelerometers into it and try pitching it as the worlds largest gaming console? They could call it the Xbox Touch. I'm sure it would be well received.

Nintendo's storage solution: Load items direct from the SD slot {Nintendo Wii Fanboy}

Oct 2nd 2008 11:13PM My 4Gb SD card works in my Wii? Where do you get the 2Gb limit from?

Logitech introduces new Pure-Fi docks and Z-5 speakers {Engadget}

Sep 16th 2008 12:26PM One of these days they'll have A2DP so I can leave my phone in the other room without having to plug it into my bedside radio.

iPod touch updated -- same screen, new case, Nike+ integration {Engadget}

Sep 9th 2008 2:13PM Still no Bluetooth? I guess they want you to buy the crappy earbuds.

IOGEAR's USB Laptop KVM Switch provides your portable with impressive new powers {Engadget}

Aug 25th 2008 2:05PM The only problem with synergy, which got it banned from our company is that it doesn't support encryption or authentication out of the box:

"Synergy does not do any authentication or encryption. Any computer can connect to the synergy server if it provides a screen name known to the server" (They do go on to explain how you can use SSH to combat this, but this means that the end user has to be much more careful about how you set it up).

At least with this iogear solution, as overpriced as it is, you aren't leaving your computer open to manipulation.

Octava unveils HDMI over Ethernet extender {Engadget HD}

Jul 14th 2008 10:07AM Have you seen the difference in price between very long CAT5 cables and HDMI cables? I'm not sure it justifies the price tag but if you're going to run HD over a long distance I'm sure this is cheaper.

Zappos hires robots to take over inventory floor {Engadget}

Jun 29th 2008 7:14AM With the robots running around the factory instead of humans, won't that mean that less shoes are sold?

Another position artist emerges from woodwork, traces face via GPS {Engadget}

Jun 2nd 2008 7:42AM When are people going to get more creative and do more Spook Country-style position art? Forget walking around with your GPS device to map out shapes on the ground - before the days of GPS this used to be called orienteering and every boy scout worth his badges knew how to do it.

World's biggest drawing created with the help of GPS and DHL {Engadget}

May 25th 2008 8:31AM Given the amount of time the package spent in Europe, wouldn't it make a few stops at DHL's Brussels hub? It looks like it barely grazed Brussels on one occasion. And wouldn't DHL put the package on a flight from its Brussels hub to its Hong Kong hub in order to get it into the right general locale for Oceania?

I once ordered something that DHL shipped from the seller, to Wilminton Ohio, shoved it on a boat?!? through Canada then down the east coast. No way you could predict the routes a package is going to take.

And if he didn't use the GPS information, why didn't he get a big map and put numbers next to each dot to make the "world's biggest join-the-dots puzzle"? Does that make you an artist or just someone past the age where you think that crayons are edible?

RIM allows Indian government to monitor Blackberry network {Engadget}

May 22nd 2008 4:55PM What's to stop a terrorist adding their own extra layer of encryption on top of RIM's security as a 3rd party app and making the whole thing moot?
