Anyone having issues w/Content Manager?

I was hoping to use the Vita as a replacement for my .mp3 player. Unfortunately, after downloading the Content Manager Assistant on my pc, all 8000+ songs show up under one album (Unknown). Needless to say, this makes it difficult to pick specific songs to loan onto the Vita.

I know this is a little late to the thread, but I was thinking about this problem. It could be that the metadata in your MP3 files isn't being read (or it was never set). When I first got my Palm Pre, I had to go and tag all my MP3 files with the correct information and album art. I used the free version of MediaMonkey (www.mediamonkey.com) to update all the MP3s I cared about. It's a pain to have to re-tag all your music, but once you do it, it's worthwhile because it's portable everywhere.

It might help to look at the metadata with Windows Explorer, MediaMonkey, or some other tool to verify that the MP3 files have that data. If not, that might be why all your music is showing up as "Unknown."

I just connected my Vita to my PC and checked the files that I did "fix" and they show up fine on the Vita with the album art and song information.

On launch day I was having issues just connecting my Vita to my PS3 to transfer my psp saved game data files. I got it work the next day, but I was definitely frustrated out of the gate.

I would not recommend using the Vita as a mp3 player because of the poor battery life and fact that you can get something like a Sansa/iPod shuffle for $50 or less. That then can be used at the gym or just stashed in your coat instead of having to carry around the 4 core, 5 inch oled screen, beastly PSV whenever you want to hear some tunes.

Thanks, I will give it a try. One issue is that all of my music files are .wav format.
