Best closed back over ear headphones for ~$100?
I've had a set of Sennheiser HD280 Pro's since around 2006. They've been with me through multiple jobs, trips, transit adventures, and more. All and all, they've been a really solid set of desktop headphones for me, blocking out surrounding noises and providing some a decent dose of sonic mayhem.
Unfortunately, I think they're about to kick the bucket! Just today, I discovered that the padding around one of the speakers is starting to peel away from the headset. They're still wearable, but I think they're going to succumb to everyday wear and tear in the near future.
So, what are my options for the best set of headphones that have similar performance to this for about $100? It looks like Sennheiser still makes these, so I'm not opposed to dropping another $100 on them. But I figure I should explore my options.
I do have a nice set of Logitech UE9000's that I use at home and when traveling -- but I don't really want to leave this super expensive set of headphones on my desk at work (or wear it on public transit).
What sort of over ear headphones with a closed back would you recommend?
