How to Fix The Scroll Wheel !!
I bought a mouse w a broken wheel and repaired it using this method and has worked great for months now!
"TO FIX THE WHEEL:
Take out your batteries.
With a sharp knife, remove the sticker below the barcode number, revealing three screws, one of which is a hex. (Bah!)
With the knife or a flathead screw driver, remove the top two feet, revealing four more screws.
Remove the screws. (Note- if you do not have a hex screwdriver, like I did, and don't mind scratching up the inside of your mouse, use the knife to widen the hole around the screw head, and use thin-nose pliers to loosen it before using a regular + screwdriver to remove it completely.)
After removing all seven screws the top should come off easily.
The wheel is held in place by grey plastic; lift the top board up and the wheel should come free.
Using a square piece of tape, cover the end that went into the scroll slot. Make sure it will not hamper your scrolling (test scroll to see if it scrolls smoothly). Insert batteries to test the scrolling. It should work.
Close it up and you're good to go! "
Thankfully I found this post, and it worked perfectly for me.
