Which manufacturer is changing least about the android OS.
Would like to know which manufacturer is not nerfing cool features and not installing bloatware so that I can browse that manufacturers products and only consider specs. If there is no saint then just opinion on the least obnoxious will be great. No #apple or #WP7.
Every Android phone makers puts a skin on their devices. The only Android devices without skins are those that Google has specially manufactured to be their Google Experience Phones. The Nexus One, Nexus S, etc. The most current Google Experience Phone that just runs stock Android is the Nexus S 4G.
One that that's out of the way, I find Samsung's Touchwiz (the latest version, 4.0) to be the best of the skins. Instead of being intrusive, it actually adds nice features that I sometimes wish were in stock Android.
On another note, sometimes the carriers add more bloatware than the manufacuturers, so if you don't want a Google experience phone, try and find an international unlocked version of the phone you want because they usually don't have carrier bloatware.
I see. My sister got the samsung Galaxy s and it had a separate samsung app market baked into the OS with around 40 additional apps pre-installed. That is pretty crap, especially when you consider that some of these apps were actually cool apps like the official twitter app which then has weird errors like not being able to update them but if you separately install the latest on Android market then your application list will have twitter listed twice. There are workarounds such as launcherpro to hide app icons but it is bothersome. Anyways, I am not sure if the galaxy s is touchwiz 4 or an earlier version. I discarded the possibility that it was carrier intervention since the samsung market is clearly a samsung improvement.
