If your battalion of bargain-hunting web bots is doing its job properly, then you should already have been alerted to AOC's new sub-$200 IPS monitor. Oh, hold on, we're the bots? Right then, here are the key specs: you get Full HD at 60Hz spread over 23 inches, a meaninglessly high 50 million:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 5ms response time, twin HDMI sockets and built-in speakers, all housed in brushed aluminum shell that's less than 0.4 inches thick. HP's Compaq 8200 Elite all-in-one desktop coming to a cubicle near you
If you were in need of HP news that has nothing to do with the sold-out, overnight sensation that's become the TouchPad, then read on. The company's just announced a new all-in-one desktop solution for the enterprise set -- the Compaq 8200 Elite. Starting at a wallet-pleasing $1000, the 1920 x 1080 23-inch full HD monitor comes outfitted with your choice of Intel's Pentium or vPro line of chips, up to 8GB DDR3 SDRAM, HDD storage that ranges from 250GB to 1TB, six USB 2.0 ports, an optional Blu-ray drive, and a six-in-one media card reader. As you might expect, the machine also comes pre-loaded with MS' ever-handy Office 2010 starter pack and Norton Internet Security. Dell's S2330MX Ultra-Slim monitor makes rival LCDs hit the treadmill
Was it really only a month ago that Dell released the remarkably priced U2412M? The folks at Round Rock are already at it again with another impressive widescreen -- the unromantically named (yet impressively thin) S2330MX. Lurking behind the catchy moniker is a 23-inch display (did we mention it's thin?), LED backlighting and a DVI to HDMI adapter. Let's face it, the power cables are gonna be thicker than the monitor -- it's very thin, you see. No word on pricing but, you can order one from tomorrow, August 18th. Mitsubishi debuts power-saving RDT231WLM-S 23-inch monitor
We know it's been tough finding a 23-inch, full HD monitor that's just nondescript enough to cause not so much as a passing glance, but it looks like Mitsubishi finally has the monitor for you. In addition to that 1,920 x 1080 resolution, its new RDT231WLM-S model packs a decent 5 ms response time, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, a full range of ports including HDMI and DVI, and an "ECO Professional" mode to cut down on power consumption whenever possible. Unfortunately, it also makes use of a TN panel, and it eschews any modern conveniences like a built-in webcam or USB hub -- but, hey, at least it's one monitor that won't collect fingerprints left and right. No price or release just yet, but we'd expect those details to be fairly inexpensive and fairly soon.[Via Akihabara News]
