For AT&T users craving a little Symbian S60 on contract, do we have some stellar news for you. After discovering that the carrier would be bringing the S60-based Nokia 6650 into its lineup in short order, we've since seen all the proof we need to keep our hearts fluttering. Now, AT&T is doing us all a favor by making things official: the 3G-capable 6650 will land in red and silver tomorrow for anyone who covets, and with it will come a 2-megapixel camera, 2.2-inch QVGA display, AT&T Navigator / Video Share / Mobile Music and a 1.36-inch external display to boot. The pain? $69.99 with a 2-year agreement.[Via phonescoop]

S60 lovers on AT&T, rejoice -- your on-contract, branded phone has arrived. The Nokia 6650 has started flowing into stores today, bringing an N75 successor that ups the beauty factor by a country mile and adds 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 for good measure. It's apparently running $70 with a two-year deal after rebate, so if Symbian flips are your cup o' tea, get on it.

If you've been jonesing for a few more shots of that trippy Samsung a637 that's starting to trickle into AT&T stores... well, here you are. We also have additional footage of Nokia's carrier-branded 6650 and 2600 classic, and new to this photo batch is the Curve 8320, one-upping AT&T's existing 8300 with WiFi (not to say you'd really know it from a dummy model). A little something for everyone here, really.[Thanks, Andy C.]%Gallery-32374%

  • Nokia 6650, 2600 classic, and a funny Samsung show up in AT&T stores

It's that most exciting time again for AT&T store owners and their customers -- yes, that's right, it's dummy time. Empty husks representing the Nokia 6650 and 2600 classic are now finding their way into employee hands, along with a rather curious Samsung that we're told might be the a637. Seriously, Sammy's done just about every form factor and gone down just about every design direction, but does this translucent white pill of a candybar not look completely fresh? Looks pretty low-end -- GoPhone territory, if we had to guess -- but if you covered up the logo, we'd guess Pantech, LG... heck, even Huawei before we put our money on Samsung. Stay tuned for versions of these things with actual electrical circuitry in 'em; they can't be far off now.[Thanks, Kal]%Gallery-32345%

  • Nokia 6650, Sony Ericsson W760a, others coming to AT&T in coming weeks

So we've gotten a little more clarity on the situation with AT&T's next round of releases since we reported on pricing earlier today, and in a nutshell, things are looking up -- it's already mid-September, and it turns out that every single one of the phones we mentioned is scheduled to ship before the end of October. Specifically, the cheapo Samsung a637 should hit any minute now, followed by the Motorola V9x and the Nokia 6650 toward the end of this month; the Sony Ericsson W760a and Pantech C740 Matrix, meanwhile, are the stragglers of the bunch with releases planned for late October. Let's see how closely they can hold to this, shall we?[Thanks, Kal]

It's always a good sign when rumored handsets get slapped with price tags, because that means that releases are right around the corner, too -- usually, anyhow. To that end, AT&T's latest stock information indicates that the S60-powered Nokia 6650 will run $129.99 in your choice of red or silver, as will the Sony Ericsson W760a; the Samsung a637 will be coming in for $49.99, so we're expecting some pretty low-end stuff there; the Pantech C740 "Matrix" is priced at $79.99, and finally, the Motorola V9x we found out about way back in early July is checking in at a princely $199.99. All prices are after rebate, too, so we wouldn't expect any miraculous deals on these -- at least for the first few weeks.[Thanks, Kal]

  • Nokia 6650 for AT&T gets more legit thanks to the FCC

We pretty much gathered that the 6650 was real from that page on Nokia's domain that has since been pulled, but if there was any lingering doubt, this should take care of it. The specs here confirm what Nokia had spilled -- most importantly, that the radio is rocking HSDPA on the 850 and 1900MHz bands, just what the doctor ordered to get some action on AT&T. A quick perusal of the manual shows that it's N-Gage compatible, though we were a bit surprised to see mentions of video calling; our guess is that they just haven't updated it for AT&T's inexplicable aversion to that particular feature yet. It'll also feature S60 3.2, so if you're in the States and S60 is how you roll, this puppy's got to be on your short list. Our money is on it getting official at CTIA next week.[Via Phone Scoop]

  • Nokia 6650 flip coming to AT&T to redeem the N75

Well, here's one we didn't see coming: it seems that AT&T has wised up to the fact that Americans like their Symbian (well, at least a few of 'em do, anyway) and wants to keep S60-equipped options on the table. Yes, granted, AT&T is a founding member of the Symbian Foundation, but the proof is in the pudding, and the last Nokia smartphone to land there was the N75 in May of last year -- an eternity by mobile standards. More recently, the N75 grew up, got sexy, picked up some brushed metal, and emerged in Europe earlier this year; now, it's surprisingly and unexpectedly been retooled with North American 3G spectrum. It's got a 2.2-inch QVGA primary display, 160 x 128 secondary, 2-megapixel cam, AT&T Navigator (which means GPS), push-to-talk support, and HSDPA 850 / 1900 to compliment quadband EDGE. We don't know exactly when it's coming, but for S60 fans who cringe at the thought of having to blow several hundred on an unlocked set every time they want some fresh hardware, this should be welcome news.[Thanks, Al and Oscar M.]

  • Nokia intros two phones for Europe

Nokia used CeBIT as its stage today to introduce two new models destined specifically for the European marketplace (fine, Nokia, be that way). The 6650 flip will be found exclusively on T-Mobile -- and seriously, we really wouldn't mind having it on the US T-Mobile with its clean looks, external music controls, HSDPA, 2 megapixel cam, and QVGA display. Even better, it should be basically free on contract when it launches in the third quarter. Next up, the 6124 classic candybar is made just for Vodafone customers like the 6234 before it, offering tight integration with its services atop S60. Pricing wasn't announced, but it should hit Voda shelves next quarter.Read - Nokia 6650Read - Nokia 6124 classic
