Enjoy your CES peek at Samsung's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/06/samsungs-2010-lcds-and-plasmas-include-the-skinny-touchscreen-re/">ultrathin 9000</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/07/samsung-9000-series-led-lcd-tv-eyes-on/">series LED-lit LCD HDTV</a>, with its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/07/samsung-led-9000-the-only-led-tv-with-a-cooler-remote-than-disp/">touchscreen, video displaying remote control</a> (also available as a $350 add-on for the 7000, 8000,and 750 series televisions) and 3D capability? That's good, because bringing the 55-inch UN55C9000 home in April will cost you a cool $6,999 (the thrifty can slum it with the 46-inch version for $5,999.) Still, if you're just looking to jump in on 3D without spending the max money, the cheapest model available at first will be the standard LCD LN46C750 available in May. In between, there's all manner of LED (most of them listed above, both with and without 3D capabilities) or old-school CCFL backlit LCDs plus a healthy lineup of plasmas arriving over the next few months, so with a note that grabbing 3D Blu-ray player and display at the same time will net a couple free pairs of active shutter glasses and a copy of the <i>Monsters vs. Aliens</i> 3D Blu-ray, check Samsung's site for each type to see what your budget can handle.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/09/samsungs-2010-3dtvs-priced-from-1-700-to-ridiculous-and-everyw/">Samsung's 2010 3DTVs priced from $1,700 to ridiculous and everywhere in between</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 09 Mar 2010 10:59:00 EST. Sure, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/14/video-intel-is-clandestinely-selling-core-i5-and-new-i7-chips-i/">Taiwan's</a> been enjoying these chips for almost a month at this point, but it's taken until now for Intel go official with its announcement of the "<a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Lynnfield/">Lynnfield</a>" processors, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Corei5/">Core i5</a>-750 and Core i7-870. If the early reviews are to be believed, both chips are dominant in their performance and price range, although there are some notable caveats for the tech savvy to take heed of. If you're in need of the finer details of all these, hit up the read links below for the skinny.<br />

Just a few months back, we had the fortune of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/25/samsung-ln52a650-review/">reviewing</a> one of Samsung's 650 Series Touch of Color LCDs ourselves, and now <em>CNET</em> has taken a look at the higher priced (and more decked out) <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/08/samsungs-650-750-series-touch-of-color-lcds-now-shipping/">750 Series sibling</a>. The 46-inch LN46A750 adds in a few swank extras including support for DLNA servers, network streaming and interactive news / stocks / weather feeds, but unfortunately, those novel extras come at a steep cost. In essence, reviewers were plenty contented with the picture quality (save for a few artifacts when dejudder modes were on), and the unique features were certainly swell for those who care, but critics couldn't wholeheartedly recommend paying the asking price for the small boost in features. Tap the read link to see if you agree.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/reviews/" rel="tag">Reviews</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/displays/" rel="tag">Displays</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/samsung/" rel="tag">Samsung</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/lcd/" rel="tag">LCD</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/06/30/samsungs-46-inch-ln46a750-touch-of-color-lcd-hdtv-reviewed/">Samsung's 46-inch LN46A750 Touch of Color LCD HDTV reviewed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 30 Jun 2008 05:11:00 EST. Sammy already gave us a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/23/samsung-750-series-touch-of-color-lcds-due-in-may/">heads-up</a> that its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/06/samsung-intros-new-1080p-lcd-hdtvs-ethernet-interactivity-inc/">Touch of Color LCD HDTVs</a> would be widely available in May, and although it has issued no separate release to inform Earthlings that these things are available for purchase, here's the notice you've been dying to receive. As of right now, both the 650- and 750-series sets are in stock and available to procure from a wide variety of resellers, and if you're curious as to whether or not either family is worth your time, you can get a hint from our review of the LN52A650 <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/25/samsung-ln52a650-review/">right here</a>.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/displays/" rel="tag">Displays</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/samsung/" rel="tag">Samsung</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/lcd/" rel="tag">LCD</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/08/samsungs-650-750-series-touch-of-color-lcds-now-shipping/">Samsung's 750-series Touch of Color LCDs now shipping</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 08 May 2008 15:17:00 EST. Following up on the<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/23/samsung-s2-and-s3-hands-on/"> DAPs</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/23/samsung-delays-fourth-gen-bd-p1500-blu-ray-player-adds-bd-live-/">BD-Live</a> announcements, Samsung's seen fit to attach prices to its <a href="http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/01/06/samsung-intros-new-1080p-lcd-hdtvs-ethernet-interactivity-inc/">750 series of LCD HDTVs</a> and their "Touch of Color" frames. At the top end, the 750 ranges from 39.9- to 52-inch sizes, all with 1080p, 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, DLNA network access and 120Hz motion processing for $2,599 - $3,499 when they hit shelves in May. The 650s are already on shelves with 720p or 1080p variations from 19- 52-inch variations, sans-DLNA, but all models include Samsung's Infolink RSS service for news direct to your flat screen. Turns out that Windows Mobile 6 is just the start with this little gem of an update, though -- you'll also get HSDPA support (yeah, that's right, you've been rocking plain ol' UMTS up until now), access to AT&amp;T Cellular Video, functional Voice Command while using a Bluetooth headset, device charging via USB, and the list goes on. Head on over to Palm's site to kick off the download, and naturally, be sure to let us know how it goes.<br /><br />[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> Aaaand there we are with the problems. Fortunately, we're not (yet) hearing about bricked phones, just upset customers who are being <a href="http://forums.palm.com/palm/board/message?board.id=support_downloads&amp;message.id=5292&amp;jump=true#M5292">blocked from downloading the updater</a>, thanks to Palm's janky serial-checking tool. Way to go, Palm, we're sending air kisses your way. Thanks, Zack.<br /><br /><strong>Update 2:</strong> Palm says that the serial number issues that plagued some of the first few folks to try to grab the update have now been resolved, so if you haven't updated yet, have a go at it, will ya? Packard Bell's latest trio of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/05/04/packard-bells-compasseo-810-and-830-gps-units/">Compasseo navigators</a> aren't likely to thrill any Americans, but for those camped out on the other side of the pond, you could certainly find some utility here. The flagship model in the 700-series (the 780 T+) sports a 4.3-inch LCD, 400MHz CPU, 2GB of SDRAM, a battery good for around three hours, NAVTEQ maps covering all of western Europe, speed camera alerts, TrafficLive Plus, built-in media player, a SiRFstarIII GPS chipset and a MMC / SD expansion slot. As for the 750 T+, it steps it down by only including 256MB of SDRAM and maps that cover just the UK / Ireland, while the low-end 750 strips away the live traffic support. We're not seeing any hard pricing details just yet, but word on the street has the forthcoming trifecta arriving soon for &pound;129.99 and up. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pocket-lint.co.uk/news/news.phtml/11277/12301/Packard-Bell-Compasseo-700-series.phtml">Pocket-Lint</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gps/" rel="tag">GPS</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/11/14/packard-bell-unveils-compasseo-700-series-gps-units/">Packard Bell unveils Compasseo 700-series GPS units</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 14 Nov 2007 17:33:00 EST. <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/21/updates-coming-any-day-now-for-atandts-treo-680-and-750/">AT&amp;T customers</a> need not apply, but users of the generic, unbranded version of the Treo 750 finally have an official option for getting their units upgraded to Windows Mobile 6. The whole timeline is kinda silly, with <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/29/palm-rolls-out-wm6-upgrade-for-vodafones-treo-750v/">Vodafone</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/19/rogers-releases-wm6-equipped-palm-treo-750/">Rogers</a>, and others all coming out with Windows Mobile 6-equipped versions of the 750 (and in some cases, official upgrades for older units) well before Palm decided to get its butt in gear and update the unbranded peeps. We've said it before, and we'll wearily say it again: we <em>have</em> to believe this means the AT&amp;T update is coming any freakin' second now.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.modaco.com/content/Pocket-PC-Professional-News/261147/Palm-FINALLY-release-a-Windows-Mobile-6-upgrade-for-Treo-750-generic-devices-750v-news-/">MoDaCo</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/software/" rel="tag">Software</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/" rel="tag">Palm</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/31/unbranded-palm-treo-750s-get-hooked-up-with-windows-mobile-6/">Unbranded Palm Treo 750s get hooked up with Windows Mobile 6</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 31 Oct 2007 10:10:00 EST. AT&amp;T Treo 750 owners have been waiting patiently (or not so patiently, as the case may be) for an update to Windows Mobile 6 <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/26/cingulars-treo-750-blackjack-and-8525-get-wm6-treatment/">seemingly since Earth was a hot, lifeless mass of molten lava</a> -- and thankfully, it seems that wait might be drawing to a close. TreoCentral's forums have turned up what appears to be a legit slide deck from within AT&amp;T detailing software upgrades for both the 750 and the Palm OS-based <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/12/hands-on-with-the-treo-680/">680</a>, with the former getting the aforementioned Windows Mobile 6 Professional, 1.8Mbps HSDPA, Cellular Video, AT&amp;T Mail, AT&amp;T Music, MobiTV, TeleNav, and a refreshed active call display. The 680 gets boosted with PTT support, MP3 ringtone capability, TeleNav, MobiTV, and instant messaging. The slides list October 15 as the rollout date for the 750 update -- a date which has obviously come and gone, so we're holding out the naive belief that we'll see it pretty much any minute now. The 680, meanwhile, allegedly gets hooked up on the 22nd. Here's hoping!<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.palminfocenter.com/news/8240/leaked-info-on-att-treo-750-and-680-rom-updates/">Palm Infocenter</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/software/" rel="tag">Software</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/" rel="tag">Palm</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/atandt/" rel="tag">ATT</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm-os/" rel="tag">Palm OS</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/21/updates-coming-any-day-now-for-atandts-treo-680-and-750/">Updates coming any day now for AT&amp;T's Treo 680 and 750?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 21 Oct 2007 08:18:00 EST. AT&amp;T customers still have a grueling wait ahead of them (apparently) for an official Windows Mobile 6 update to their Treo 750s, but our buddies north of the border are on the ball. Canada's GSM grandpappy, Rogers, has finally gotten around to launching the device -- a bit late, yes, but with Windows Mobile 6 and enabled HSDPA out of the gate. Normally we'd say the timing sucks with a newer product <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/12/palms-treo-500v-gets-official/">having just launched</a> overseas, but let's be honest: between the Treo 500 and the 750, we're sure there are still plenty of folks willing to take the older model. Pick it up now for $599 CAD (about $584) on a two-year contract, or a far more palatable $249 CAD (about $243) on a three-year.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.theunwired.net/?item=available-rogers-launches-the-palm-treo-750-with-windows-mobile-6">the::unwired</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/" rel="tag">Palm</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/rogers-wireless/" rel="tag">Rogers Wireless</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/umts/" rel="tag">UMTS</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/19/rogers-releases-wm6-equipped-palm-treo-750/">Rogers releases WM6-equipped Palm Treo 750</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 19 Sep 2007 15:32:00 EST. We'd <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/26/cingulars-treo-750-blackjack-and-8525-get-wm6-treatment/">reported</a> this would happen, and, well... it happened. In Microsoft's booth at CTIA, anyway. It's anybody's guess exactly when it is end users will be able to drop Windows Mobile 6 on <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=750">Treo 750s</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=blackjack">Samsung BlackJacks</a> of their very own, but we take it as a pretty solid sign that Microsoft is comfortable showing it off already.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/software/" rel="tag">Software</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/" rel="tag">Palm</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/samsung/" rel="tag">Samsung</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/atandt/" rel="tag">ATT</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/27/treo-750-blackjack-with-windows-mobile-6-in-the-wild/">Treo 750, BlackJack with Windows Mobile 6 in the wild</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 27 Mar 2007 16:19:00 EST. While Palm had already <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/01/25/palm-pushes-direct-push-to-palm-os/">shoved the update</a> onto the 680 and 700p handhelds, it's now giving the faithful 650 users the ability to revel in <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=push+email">Push Email</a> technology too, which is sure to make hard-nosed managers grin from ear to ear. Aside from the newfound support, the update notes here haven't really changed, so if you're interested in having your Outlooked life beamed straight to your Treo 650, be sure to hit the read link and get your download on. Of course, you should probably have your credit card ready as well, as folks with VersaMail 3.5 will be asked to cough up $2.99, while users without the aforementioned software will pay out $12.98.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/20/palm-treo-650-gets-direct-push-email-too/">Palm Treo 650 gets Direct Push email, too</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 20 Mar 2007 16:40:00 EST. And now, for your viewing pleasure, a Treo 750 supping upon <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/02/09/windows-mobile-6-professional-in-pictures/">Windows Mobile 6 Professional's</a> sweet, sweet nectar. No, we've no details on when, where, or how this might find its way to existing Treo owners, but it's an encouraging sign, is it not? Though the <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/01/04/palms-treo-750-launch-presentation-including-price-and-release/">cover was blown</a>, Palm fanatics everywhere still have reason to breathe a deep sigh of relief today as the Treo 750 has gone official for Cingular. The Windows Mobile Pocket PC handset is the first Palm device launched to leverage Cingular's 3G network -- and what's better, an upgrade to HSDPA is on the way. Specs include 128MB ROM / 64 MB RAM with miniSD expansion, Bluetooth (albeit 1.2), and that much-maligned square 240 x 240 display, all atop a 300MHz Samsung core. LAPTOP Magazine and Pocketnow both came away with similar impressions in their quick takes; Palm's latest entry isn't earth-shattering by any stretch of the imagination, but key enhancements to Windows Mobile 5's shortcomings (threaded messaging!) and 3G data should keep existing Treo users coming back for the upgrade. Look for the 750 in stores this week for $399 on a two-year contract, with online availability rolling in later this month.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.palm.com/us/products/smartphones/treo750/index.html?creativeID=HmPg_BB|treo750_announcement">Read</a> - Palm product page<br /><a href="http://laptopmag.com/Review/Palm-Treo-750.htm">Read</a> - LAPTOP Magazine review<br /><a href="http://pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&amp;t=reviews&amp;id=905">Read</a> - Pocketnow review<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/07/cingulars-treo-750-announced-reviewed/">Cingular's Treo 750 announced, reviewed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 07 Jan 2007 20:14:00 EST. Well, we knew Palm and Cingular were launching the Treo 750 on January 7th (i.e. the unofficial first day of CES), but now we've got the full skinny on the release. Customers will be able to get theirs at Cingular retail stores, or Cingular or Palm's online stores on January 8th for $399 with two year service agreement (and $100 mail-in rebate). Oh, did we mention the 750's gonna come with that sweet threaded messaging app we've been waiting for (well, some of us haven't been waiting for it), and has a free HSDPA upgrade due in 1H06? Check out the rest of Cingular's launch presentation after the break. Have a nice week, Treo fans.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/04/palms-treo-750-launch-presentation-including-price-and-release/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Palm Treo 750 launch presentation, including price and release date</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/" rel="tag">Palm</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/atandt/" rel="tag">ATT</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gprs/" rel="tag">GPRS</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/umts/" rel="tag">UMTS</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/04/palms-treo-750-launch-presentation-including-price-and-release/">Palm Treo 750 launch presentation, including price and release date</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 04 Jan 2007 14:05:00 EST. We can't yet say for certain when Cingular will actually be selling the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/08/09/the-boy-genius-report-exclusive-cingular-treo-750-pics/">Treo 750</a>, but they do like announcing new devices at CES (or <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/750">not so new devices</a>, as it were), and it looks like the US launch of the 750 is due this Sunday. Kind of a bore at this point, we know, but it doesn't look like they're going to be launching any other new Treos for CES, let alone the thinner, WiFi-enabled device we've all been waiting patiently for. We can't yet say for certain when Cingular will actually be selling the <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/08/09/the-boy-genius-report-exclusive-cingular-treo-750-pics/">Treo 750</a>, but they do like announcing new devices at CES (or <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/tag/750">not so new devices</a>, as it were), and it looks like the US launch of the 750 is due this Sunday. Kind of a bore at this point, we know, but it doesn't look like they're going to be launching any other new Treos for CES, let alone the thinner, WiFi-enabled device we've all been waiting patiently for. In other words, learn to love it, and keep an eye out for the price and release date this weekend.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/03/palm-treo-750-for-cingular-launching-at-ces/">Palm Treo 750 for Cingular launching at CES</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 03 Jan 2007 08:09:00 EST. The Boy Genius snap above is of a reported demo unit said to be hitting "various <a href="http://www.desktops.engadget.com/2006/09/22/palm-briefly-confesses-to-treo-680-750-for-cingular/">Cingular</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/06/27/treo-lennon-and-treo-nitro-coming-to-cingular/">stores</a>" across The Nation over the weekend. Who knows, with the rumor-mill in a frenzy about a possible launch as early as today, things sure look promising for a stub-free, HSDPA holiday after all. Does the very thought of a HSDPA, stub antenna-free, Windows Mobile-equipped slice of Palm goodness leave you dizzy with desire? Well, get ready to wait. And wait. And, oh yeah, then wait a little more -- just until you get to the point where the by-then-dated phone is a distant memory in your mind and you couldn't possibly care less about its release (much to Palm's chagrin, undoubtedly). Despite repeated rumblings about the Treo 750's <a href="http://www.desktops.engadget.com/2006/09/22/palm-briefly-confesses-to-treo-680-750-for-cingular/">imminent</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/08/09/the-boy-genius-report-exclusive-cingular-treo-750-pics/">release</a> on Cingular, Palm has dropped the bomb today that the 750 is now targeted for a US debut in the <em>third frickin' quarter</em> of 2007 in a report detailing its revised guidance for Q2 of next year. The slip is allegedly due to a "delay in certification," suggesting that the FCC might be responsible for gumming up the works here -- but any way you slice it, this doesn't bode well for folks looking to get their high-end Palm on who don't have the benefit of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/25/vodafones-treo-750v-gets-an-actual-launch-date/">Vodafone coverage</a>. Maybe we can occupy ourselves with the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/11/25/treo-680-review-roundup/">680</a> in the meantime?<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://clieuk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?threadid=8698">PDA247</a>]<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> False alarm! Apparently these newfangled "fiscal years," as they're known, are way ahead of the calendar we normally know and love. Turns out the third quarter of fiscal '07 starts next month, so we might see some 750 action before the year's out after all. <div style="text-align: center;"><img vspace="4" hspace="4" border="0" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2006/11/cingular-rebate-nov-dec-2006.jpg" id="vimage_1" alt="" /></div>
</a>Cingular's rebate forms are about as accurate at predicting the carrier's releases as weathermen are at predicting blizzards, but nevertheless, there are several juicy tidbits in the latest form (dated November 5 to December 30, 2006) worth pointing out. First up, the Samsung ZX30 and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/08/11/fcc-fridays/">LG CU400</a> make appearances, both presumably destined to bring yet more clamshell love to the HSDPA game, and it'll be interesting to see how the ZX30 slots in against its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/11/04/hands-on-with-the-samsung-sync/">SYNC</a> stablemate. Also showing up to the party is the CU500v -- a phone we know nothing about -- but we're guessing it represents some sort of incremental upgrade to the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=cu500">CU500</a> (video calling, perhaps?). Next up, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/04/fcc-approves-samsung-sgh-i607-cingular-launch-imminent/">SGH-i607</a> seems to have been officially christened the "Blackjack" for Cingular's release of the slim, 3G, QWERTY smartphone. Finally, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/21/treo-680-headed-to-cingular/">Treo 680</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/08/09/the-boy-genius-report-exclusive-cingular-treo-750-pics/">750</a> get some rebate love with both models coming in camera and non-camera variants. Conspicuously missing from the form, though, is the hotly-anticipated <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/26/nokia-n75-packs-3g-for-us-shores/">Nokia N75</a>, suggesting that American S60 fans might be waiting until early '07 to get some 3G action.<br /><br />[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> Looking closer at the form, we find a couple other goodies in the mix -- the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/07/24/motorolas-motokrzr-k1-and-k1m/">Motorola K1 KRZR</a> (in its GSM flavor, of course), the V3r (basically a red <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=v3i">V3i</a>, we hear), and the Pearl, a phone we'd <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/22/cingular-well-rock-a-pearl-in-2007/">previously heard</a> wouldn't drop until 2007. Oh, and if you look <em>really</em> close, the ZX30 actually reads "ZX20" (how boring!). So, last time we checked, the Palm Treo 750 was a GSM / GPRS / EDGE / UMTS / HSDPA handset destined for the likes of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/12/palm-treo-750v-gets-official/">Vodafone</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/08/09/the-boy-genius-report-exclusive-cingular-treo-750-pics/">Cingular</a>. So why is it, then, that a couple images have leaked out of a draft CompUSA ad offering a Sprint 750w with "EDGE/EVDO technology" for a cool $300? Hey, if Sprint wants to rock an upgraded <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/03/treo-700wx-launches-on-sprint/">700wx</a> with GSM for global compatibility, far be it from us to complain -- but something tells us our friends at CompUSA just got a little confused while getting their ad flyers ready.<br /><br />[Thanks, Akijikan]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/" rel="tag">Palm</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/sprint/" rel="tag">Sprint</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/1xrtt/" rel="tag">1xRTT</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gprs/" rel="tag">GPRS</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/ev-do/" rel="tag">EV-DO</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cdma/" rel="tag">CDMA</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/29/a-treo-750w-on-sprint-is-compusa-confused/">A Treo 750w on Sprint: is CompUSA confused?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 29 Oct 2006 19:13:00 EST. It looks like attendees of this week's DigitalLife conference in New York City (our own Paul and Peter included) will be treated to the announcement of a brand spankin' new Treo model. Well, "new" might be a strong term here -- the 680 is probably considered the odds-on favorite to get official, and we sort of <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/09/22/palm-briefly-confesses-to-treo-680-750-for-cingular/">already scooped that</a> on account of Palm's own blunder -- but nevertheless, we know a diehard Palm OS fan or two that'd like nothing more than to hear Palm confirm that the 680 is real and shipping on Cingular post haste. Of course, they've always got the Cingular version of the <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/09/12/treo-750v-in-the-flesh/">750</a> as a backup if they decide to keep the 680 under wraps for a while longer, but if they <em>do</em> decide to pass that off as the "new Treo" they're unveiling, our guys on the scene will have boos and rotten vegetables at the ready.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/10/palm-picks-october-12-to-announce-new-treo/">Palm picks October 12 to announce new Treo</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 10 Oct 2006 15:55:00 EST. Dear Palm,<br /><br />Why is it that you have such a devil of a time keeping a lid on your product pipeline? It seems like in those precious few moments when your carriers aren't <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/06/27/treo-nitro-and-treo-lennon-coming-to-cingular-in-october/">leaking documents</a> describing unreleased Treos, you're doing it yourself. No bother; we already knew darned well Cingular would be getting a pair of new handsets from you, freshly freed of their pesky external antennas, in Palm OS and Windows Mobile flavors -- we just wish you'd make it a little more challenging to scoop the deets sometimes. Anyway, you've got a crowd of Palm fanatics anxiously awaiting your <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/09/22/palm-confirms-low-end-treo-680-device-rumored/">680</a> and <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/08/09/the-boy-genius-report-exclusive-cingular-treo-750-pics/">750</a> here in the US, so let's get this show on the road, shall we?<br /><br />Love,<br />Engadget<br /><br />[Thanks, William and Jon]<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/22/palm-briefly-confesses-to-treo-680-750-for-cingular/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Palm briefly confesses to Treo 680, 750 for Cingular</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/22/palm-briefly-confesses-to-treo-680-750-for-cingular/">Palm briefly confesses to Treo 680, 750 for Cingular</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 22 Sep 2006 20:55:00 EST. Windows Mobile had a fresh <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/12/palm-treo-750v-gets-official/">750v</a> kicking around in their booth, and we were more than happy to snap a few shots of it <em>au naturale</em>. We're told that Vodafone has an exclusive on the device at least through the holidays, meaning Cingular might not be getting the love until '07 despite the presence of triband UMTS. We also confirmed that the device is UMTS only, not HSDPA, but hey -- when it comes to triband 3G devices, beggars can't be choosers.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> <a href="http://www.treocentral.com/content/Stories/905-1.htm">TreoCentral's</a> been told that the 750 will be <em>software upgradable</em> to HSDPA; also, Vodafone's exclusivity clause applies to Europe only, leaving the door open for 2006 releases in Asia, the US or elsewhere.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/12/treo-750v-in-the-flesh/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Treo 750v in the flesh</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/palm/" rel="tag">Palm</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gprs/" rel="tag">GPRS</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/umts/" rel="tag">UMTS</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/12/treo-750v-in-the-flesh/">Treo 750v in the flesh</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 12 Sep 2006 17:48:00 EST. Palm has issued all the juicy details on their UK site, and... well, it's pretty much exactly what we expected: internal antenna, quadband GSM with triband UMTS (lending itself to a <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/08/09/the-boy-genius-report-exclusive-cingular-treo-750-pics/">Cingular release</a>), and a superbly average 1.3-megapixel cam sitting atop Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC Phone Edition. The phone is still apparently in the pre-order phase, though Vodafone's site is showing a price "From Free to &pound;127.66" (about $240) depending on contract -- not bad considering what you get, but whether similar pricing will carry over to Cingular is another question entirely.<br /><br />[Thanks, Wolwol and Camp]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/12/palm-treo-750v-gets-official/">Palm Treo 750v gets official</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 12 Sep 2006 12:32:00 EST. The teaser shot of the keyboard on Voda's site might not be very revealing, but hey, we've got <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/08/30/new-treo-750-photos-du-jour/">plenty</a> of <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/08/26/biggie-sized-pic-of-the-treo-750/">evidence</a> <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/08/04/more-shots-of-a-treo-sans-antenna/">lined up</a> to know pretty much what's in store for Vodafone customers <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/08/20/palm-chooses-september-to-announce-new-treo/">come September 12</a> either way. Businessfolk on the carrier's UK site are now being encouraged to preorder the device, which will be "using Vodafone's high-speed 3G network" humming along atop Windows Mobile 5.2. The remainder of the spec sheet (if accurate) is nothing we couldn't have guessed, suggesting a 1.3-megapixel cam (we've heard 2 megapixels thrown around; we'll see), Bluetooth, and that fabulous HSDPA radio, though there's no mention of WiFi -- potentially a deal breaker for some. And for the record, yes, we're figuring that if they panned up on that annoying teaser shot, there'd be no external antenna in sight.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.mobilitysite.com/2006/09/treo_750v_is_available_to_preorder.php">Mobility Site</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/05/vodafone-taking-preorders-for-treo-750v/">Vodafone taking preorders for Treo 750v</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 05 Sep 2006 18:18:00 EST.
