Oxygen Interactive has a slew of upcoming DS software in its lineup, which involve make-up, pirates, and pool respectively (although a combination of the three would be interesting, as that would likely involve applying eye-liner to Johnny Depp). The games now have release dates (or months), which seem to be Europe-only even though the company is bringing them to the U.S. eventually. We don't imagine that this lot will take long to localize, though, as there won't be any translation issues. The one that piques our interest the most is the August release of Pirates: Duels on the High Seas, because, well, it involves pirates. It's also a sequel to a WiiWare title called Pirates: The Key of Dreams, which should hit Nintendo's service sometime this month. As for the pirate-less games, you have 8Ball All Stars, which is a "modern and stylish take on pool," slated for September. Then, in October you can expect Oxygen's line of demeaning girls' titles to hit the market, including My Make-Up, My Dress-Up, and My Secret Diary.Does anyone think they'll be swashbuckling this summer -- you know, in the legal way? What's this picture, sent to us by reader Mike, and found on Apple's website? Why, it's a screengrab from iTunes, with a nifty little battery icon right there next to the iPhone listing.Yes, but Mike, I hear you saying, what does that mean? It means, my friends, that a new iTunes update is right around the corner. 7.4.3 doesn't have this icon, and so it's very likely that within the next day or two, we'll see a brand new version of iTunes, complete with this nifty battery icon, and who knows what else. Why Mike, I hear you saying again (I have great hearing), that's terrific! Could this, you say, have anything to do with the recent 1.1.1 iPhone update? Will this coming iTunes update affect, perhaps, my homemade ringtones, or my jailbroken iPhone? To those questions, I don't have solid answers-- the update is probably due out fast, so we'll know soon. But I do, like many of you, have a Magic 8-Ball. I've consulted it, and in this case, it's telling me: "Outlook not so good."Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

Remember when TIFF games were all the rage? They were simple games that just needed to be placed in the PSP's PHOTO folder in order to work. One of the great things about TIFF homebrew was that almost anyone could use it, without any complicated ELOADERs and what-not. Another plus? It worked on homebrew with firmware as high as 2.80.Milad, from the Playstation forums, has created a huge list of TIFF programs that may catch your fancy. Here's a small sampling of what's available: Magic 8-Ball Calculator TNT Dude (homebrew game) Unstuck (stuck pixel remover) FileAssistant (awesome PSP file management utility)

The Zune is coming, the Zune is coming! We all know that Microsoft has announced (but not shown off a working model) their iPod competitor (I noticed that most articles about the Zune aren't calling it an iPod killer, so I won't either) that will have WiFi, a social component, and quite possibly double as a cheese grater. What's a Mac pundit to do? Why, pull out your Magic 8 Ball and start answering some questions about Zune, at least that's what John 'My Fireball is more Daring than yours' Gruber did today. Head on over for an entertaining and informative read. You'll be glad you did.
