One fall launch event was never going to be enough for Apple. Last month, we got an eyeful of the company’s latest Watches and iPads — including one that still isn’t up for sale. Now it’s time for all of Apple’s new iPhones to take the stage, and you’d do well to expect plenty of talk about the A14 chipset, 5G plans, and more. If we’re really lucky, we’ll finally get an update on some of those products Apple has been working on behind closed doors, like that second-generation HomePod or its studio-grade AirPods. All signs point to this being the most jam-packed iPhone event in recent memory, and we’ll be covering the event start to finish — and beyond — right here.

If this were any other year, we’d be getting ready to cover Apple’s WWDC keynote address from the middle of the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose. We might be cozy at home, but it’s hard to imagine things at Apple feeling similarly at ease.

The giant video image from a home projector is the envy of every TV watcher, but traditional home theater projectors need dark rooms and lots of space to project a large image. Ultra-short-throw projectors have emerged to overcome these limitations. Epson, Hisense, LG, Optoma, and Sony all have introduced models in this category, often touting them as a great substitute for a large-screen TV in your living room. Although these projectors can deliver a 100-inch (or larger) image for a much more reasonable price than a TV of a similar size, you need to be prepared to sacrifice both performance and features in the process.

It seems like just yesterday that Samsung was explaining the "age of experience" at CES, and now we're in SF to sit through another lengthy, spectacle-filled presentation. This time, though, the show is all about a handful of smartphones that you've almost certainly seen already: The Galaxy S20 series.

Samsung's press conferences have always been all about spectacle, and few places are more spectacular than Las Vegas this time of year. We're expecting a few more surprises this time than usual, though. Yes, you'd be right to expect a slew of TV announcements, not to mention some updated laptops and a few smart appliances, too. What's less conventional is the fact that Samsung already announced mid-range versions of their flagship phones, invited us to yet another smartphone launch event, and has basically confirmed its plans to start making life-like virtual people. It's not supposed to be anything like the oft-maligned Bixby, but apart from that, your guess is as good as ours.

Sony's CES mood in recent years is one of quiet confidence and, well, not many big hardware announcements. Instead, it uses CES press conferences as a showcase for what it did the year before. That's not great news if you were angling for details on the next-generation PlayStation, but expect updates to the company's TVs and audio hardware. Maybe we'll get some new cameras, as both Nikon and Canon have launched new systems in the last year. We'll be liveblogging whatever Sony has planned, so join us here at 5:00 PM PST (8:00 PM EST). It's a beautiful, Fall day in New York City, and there's no better way to start it off than with a coffee, a long queue of journalists outside The Shed, and the promise of some new Google hardware.
We're live at Microsoft's Surface event!
We're kicking off another October full of anticipated gadget launches with Microsoft's Surface event, which is happening at 10AM ET today. Because no company is immune to the leak plague, we already know a lot about what to expect from Microsoft, including a new Surface Pro, an ARM-based Surface and an updated Surface Laptop. But that can't be all, right? We're hoping to see a dual-screen Surface, even if it's just a prototype. It'd also be nice if Microsoft dropped some earbuds, since companies like Amazon and Huawei have also recently unveiled wireless audio devices. Don't forget, Microsoft surprised us with new Surface headphones at this same event last year, so it's not too much of a stretch to expect new audio products.
We're live from Samsung's Galaxy Note 10 event in Brooklyn
Samsung has already shown off some new hardware, but today's the day we finally get to see what the company is doing with the Galaxy Note. Are we getting two of them? Almost definitely. Is a 5G model coming? You bet! Will the new S Pen pack some weirdo Bluetooth magic wand tricks? All signs point to yes.

Square Enix is at E3 2019 and it has one of the flashiest titles of the year, Final Fantasy VII Remake. The company dropped a new trailer and revealed the game's release date during a live symphony performance last night, showing off what it means by "rebuilding and expanding" on the original title. Four years after the game's announcement, fans can mark a release date in their calendars: Final Fantasy VII Remake comes out on March 3rd, 2020.

Microsoft, with Sony sitting out this year, has a big show ahead of it -- and a big chance to claim all the gaming headlines. In the last 24 hours, Microsoft gave us a strong hint of major announcements on its next-gen console -- expect teraflop chat a-plenty. Actual game title-wise, we're waiting on big news regarding Gears of War 5, and more than a tease of Halo Infinite, hopefully. There's likely to be an entirely new wave of titles from the majors like Ubisoft, Square Enix and EA, plus more indie games. But for a lot of us, especially current PC and PlayStation gamers, all eyes are on how Microsoft's streaming game service takes shape. This year, we're live-streaming along with the news, so join Senior Editor Jessica Conditt and me, Mat Smith, here and on YouTube, for everything Xbox at 1PM PT/ 4PM EST / 9PM GMT.
Live from WWDC 2019!
Yes, another Apple event. After devoting an entire keynote this March to streaming services, Apple is kicking off its annual Worldwide Developer Conference today, and so it's time for the company to shift its attention back to its bread-and-butter platforms -- ya know, iOS, macOS, watchOS and maybe tvOS. As always, we expect a few surprises during Tim Cook's two-hour-or-so presentation, but we also have a few rumors to stand on. First off, it seems likely we'll hear more about Apple's plan to make iOS apps easily portable to macOS. Also on the Mac, it's possible we'll see separate Music and Podcasts apps, along with Siri Shortcuts and Screen Time, both of which made their debut on iOS. Meanwhile, rumors also point to expanded uses for NFC on the iPhone and an on-device App Store for the Apple Watch. That said, rumors don't tell the whole story -- you're going to want to follow our liveblog starting at 1pm ET to see what the press got right, what it got wrong and what it missed entirely.
