Can't get enough contests? As if giving away a free copy of WTF in our 1000th post weren't enough, I discovered a new contest running on AMN to win a copy of the upcoming RPG Spectral Souls. It comes from the same publishing team as Disgaea, so maybe showing your love for this game will make the Disgaea PSP port a reality in the US. Maybe. The contest ends September 20th. The game releases on September 26th.

Regardless of what we've heard about third-party titles not being online until 2007, Konami is saying that Elebits could very well ship with online capabilities. During Konami's recent Summer BBQ 2006 event in San Francisco last week, Denis Lee, who is the Group Marketing Manager at Konami, revealed that "the team is looking into online and trying to find out what the best kind of gameplay they can get into the game is and still make launch window. We're working on a few ideas, but we're not talking about online specifically."So Konami is looking at online gameplay for Elebits, but can't really comment on how it will be implemented. Co-op is a given, but what other kind of cool online gametypes would support the overall focus of the title? How about some time-based challenges?

The Atari love continues today, as impressions and videos from their "Atari Spotlight" slowly trickle in. Another PSP game featured at the event was Earthworm Jim. While the screenshots we've seen so far have looked really good so far, seeing the game in motion has elevated its desirability to an even greater level. Like Ultimate Ghouls 'n Goblins on the PSP and New Super Mario Bros. on the DS, 3D graphics have been really changing the look and feel of 2D games... for the good. Our pal Jim looks to animate quick brilliantly. The platforming looks absolutely spectacular, with Jim have access to a plethora of moves, including a super-charged jump aided by his suit. While the combat and hit detection appear to be lacking right now, this very early demonstration of Earthworm Jim shows a lot of promise.Download - Gamespot's VideoRead - Gamespot's Hands-OnRead - AMN's Hands-On

Word over at AMN is that some inside folk privy to the kind of information only insiders...are...privy...to have confirmed an unnamed title that will be releasing for the Revolution. This title, which is first-person and largely based around swordplay and violence, is to be revealed in the coming weeks. In doing some super-sleuthing, AMN's Phillip Levin also found out that Ubisoft is working on a Revolution title code-named "Katana," which combines violent themes of sword and gun play through the control of the Revolution's remote. Coincidence?
