Archer Aviation and United Airlines announced a partnership today to launch a commercial air taxi route in Chicago. The companies plan to launch the flight path between downtown and O’Hare International Airport in 2025.

TP-Link has unveiled its most powerful gaming router yet, and it's jacked. The Archer C5400X features 1.8 GHz 64-bit quad-core CPU, three co-processors and 1 GB RAM to reach WiFi speeds up to 5400 Mbps over one 2.4 GHz (1000 Mbps) and two 5 GHz (2167 Mbps) bands. And it comes with three WiFi bands, eight Gigabit LAN ports and one Gigabit WAN port. In other words, it's a superfast monster. Eye-watering specs aside, look at it. Look at those antennae. This isn't a router you want to shove behind the TV. Get it at Amazon, Newegg, Fry's Electronics and Micro Center for $400.

'Archer' mobile game asks you to break out your printer
By their very nature, most augmented reality games are at least a little bit futuristic. The creators of Archer, however, are embracing the past... in more ways than one. FXX's Archer, P.I. mobile game will have you pointing your Android or iOS device at your TV, Facebook and even billboards to scan for clues to a hidden story inside Archer: Dreamland, the film noir-inspired eighth season for the animated series. If you want to claim your rewards and unlock every mystery, though, you'll also have to print and assemble physical objects based on what you see in the show. That's right -- if you've welcomed the paperless future with open arms, you won't get everything the story has to offer.
Netflix nabs 'Archer' team for its first animated feature
Netflix is making its animated feature film debut with the grandly titled America: The Motion Picture. According to Deadline, the original movie is an R-rated, comedic take on the founding of our country. The production team is stellar and will be led by Archer's Matt Thompson (who will direct) and Adam Reed. The Expendables' Dave Callaham will write the script, and the team behind The LEGO Movie, (including Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Will Allegra) will also contribute. Channing Tatum gets a producer credit as well, and is on tap to voice George Washington in the film.

This week A&E revisits the classic series Roots, while BBC America airs the season premiere of Top Gear with its all-new cast. Cinemax is premiering a new series from The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, called Outcast, and you can watch the first episode below. We also have a couple of new Ultra HD Blu-ray releases, with Gods of Egypt and Now You See Me. For gamers, PS4 is snagging a few Xbox One releases, as Smite and Oxenfree come to PSN, on the same week that Sony's network kicks off season two of its exclusive superhero series Powers. Pinball FX creator Zen Studios released a bundle this week featuring tables from Archer, Family Guy, Bob's Burgers and American Dad. The pack, called Balls of Glory, is available now across PS3, PS4, Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Windows 10, Steam, Android and iOS (whew). And all of this exists because of a tweet, as Zen Studios VP of Publishing Mel Kirk explains.

I'm not sure which is more impressive: the fact that the Archer series creators went through so much trouble to create such an elaborate Easter egg or the fact that someone was actually able to crack the multiple mind-bending puzzles needed to reveal it. And from the looks of things, we haven't even come close to the bottom of this rabbit hole.
PSN Store Update: Phrasing!
Alright, let's talk about dying lights, grim fandangos and how life is strange. No, not that recent rumor, silly-billy! We're totally referring to this week's new releases on the PlayStation Store, which include Techland's Dying Light ($60), the Grim Fandango remaster ($15) and the debut episode of teen drama Life is Strange ($5). All three of those are on PS4, while you'll also find Life is Strange on PS3 and Grim Fandango on Vita. By the by, Grim Fandango is cross-buy; if you buy it on PS4 you'll unlock it on Vita for free, and vice versa. Meanwhile, Life is Strange won't be available until Friday, January 30.

I've never been one to gravitate toward bow-and-arrow classes in MMOs, although I've dabbled in them from time to time. I guess I fear that archers and their ilk are far too popular and feature mindless, straight-forward mechanics (shoot... one arrow at a time! Now two at a time! Now a whole bunch rapidly!). But if I had to pick a favorite, it would have to be Dungeons and Dragon Online's Bard. I equipped her with a heavy repeating crossbow, and being able to man the medieval equivalent of an automatic rifle was strangely satisfying. Plus, crossbows do not get a lot of play in MMOs for some reason. Do you have a favorite archer class, and if so, what was it? Must See HDTV for the week of January 13th: Archer, Sherlock and The Square
CES is over and we're ready to load up our DVRs with a slew of winter TV, starting with the return of Archer on FX. Joined tonight by the premiere of new series Chozen, season five is expected to take the spy series on a new angle. Other highlights include the US season premiere of Sherlock (no spoilers!) and the launch of one of Netflix's new original documentaries. The Square will debut on Watch Instantly streaming Friday at 3:01AM ET, and take a deeper look at the Egyptian revolution. New FX series Chozen premieres debut episode on Xbox One
Chozen, a new animated series from the creators of Eastbound & Down and Archer, will debut on Xbox One a week before it airs on FX. Xbox One owners who have a subscription through a participating cable provider - Xbox Wire lists AT&T U-Verse, Comcast, Cablevision, Suddenlink and WOW - can fire up their FXNow app on January 6 to tune in. According to Xbox Wire, Chozen stars a gay white rapper recently released from prison, who uses his talent to "take aim at the stereotypes of machismo and misogyny that are synonymous with rap music." The character (also named Chozen) is voiced by Bobby Moynihan, of Saturday Night Live fame.
The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot traps you for hours of fun
It might sound like a bad thing, but my favorite part of playing Ubisoft's The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot is logging into the game. I just love it when I get past the loading screen that warns "closed beta" to see who has attacked my castle and how the attackers fared during the attempt. Usually they have just blown past my defenses and humiliated me, but thanks to a wonderful replay feature, I can see exactly where my castle is at its weakest and can adjust accordingly. Every player in the game gets a castle like mine. They're all floating in the sky, chock-full of riches that are up for grabs as long as the attacking player can get past the castle's defenses. The gameplay is nothing really new. We have been playing castle defense or action-based puzzlers for a long time, but The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot delivers everything in such a polished, unique-looking package that it gets props for being unique. There's much more to the game, but you'll have to get past my glue traps to read the details!
