Here's some of the other stuff that happened in the wide world of wireless for the week of July 11, 2011: Samsung launched an ad campaign for the Infuse 4G which claims its colors are "so good, they fool Mother Nature." Each ad features a different animal that mistakes the Infuse's Super AMOLED Plus screen for real nature. [via Gottabemobile] T-Mobile's MyTouch 4G is now available on Cincinnati Bell as the HTC Panache 4G for $200 with two-year agreement. [via MobileBurn] We got a sneak peek at some of Symbian Belle's UI changes, thanks to the refreshed Design Guideline docs on Nokia's developer website. [via All About Symbian] Inductive charging battery covers are now available for the HTC Thunderbolt and Incredible 2, Motorola Droid 3, and the LG Revolution. [via Droid-Life] Motorola officially announced the Fire, aka XT316. It's a portrait QWERTY handset with Gingerbread and is currently available in China. In the coming months it should work its way to Taiwan, Latin America, and Europe. The XT316 is going for $230. [via Unwired View] The popular GroupMe messaging app is now available for Windows Phone and can be downloaded for free in the Marketplace. [via MobileBurn and Gizmodo] Romanian carrier Cosmote has launched a 21.6 Mbps HSPA+ broadband service. (thx lonel) [via ZF Business Hi-Tech]

  • Droid Charge joins the wireless charging club, gets its own inductive battery cover

An HTC Thunderbolt wireless charging cover might still be a no-show on Verizon's site, but in the case of the Droid Charge, things are much simpler. Big Red quietly started selling a Qi-compliant inductive battery cover molded specifically for the LTE-equipped handset, allowing it to recharge when paired with any compatible charging pad. Verizon doesn't list specs, so it's unclear just how much heft that case will add to the phone's .46-inch frame. Still, if ditching your AC adapter is what you're after, you can hit the source link now and scoop one up for $29.99. [Thanks, Kalyan]

They're not showing up on Verizon's site at this point, but you can apparently score first-party replacement battery covers for your Droid Incredible -- not just in the original black, but also in decidedly louder red and white varieties. If you've got a buddy flaunting a white EVO, we can't think of anything better than fire engine red to get him to quiet down a bit -- only problem is you'll be asked to shell out a stiff $24.99 for the privilege. Word is they're available in stores now. [Thanks, patlex]

  • Matte battery cover is an interesting plan B for your Touch Diamond2

This wouldn't be the first time we've seen HTC battery covers come in multiple flavors, and considering the polarizing look of some of the company's more recent devices, it makes good, plain sense that they'd want to mix things up by offering alternate designs. It seems you can score this matte version of the Touch Diamond2's cover for $35 if you look hard enough, giving the business-minded phone just a slightly more subdued look that your... uh, matte personality demands. Around these parts, we'll take the damn thing with a bright green cover if we have to -- but for areas of the globe where they're easier to come by at the moment, it's a nice option to have.[Via Slashphone]

  • Matte HTC Touch Pro battery cover tones down vivaciousness of HTC Fuze

The Fuze -- which is none other than AT&T's version of the HTC Touch Pro -- has a rather distinct glossy battery cover. Evidently that's not sitting too well with some owners, who'd much prefer the classy matte version that ships on the carrier-free GSM HTC Touch Pro (which is commonly sold in Europe). If you're one of "those people," you'll be elated to know that the cover from the latter slides on the Fuze just fine, but you'll have to lay down upwards of $30 for the change in scenery. Suddenly, glossy doesn't seem so bad, eh?[Via WMPowerUser]

  • Luxury, meet ridiculous: the Mobiado Luminoso battery cover flash drive

If you're carrying around a Mobiado Luminoso cell phone, it's a safe bet you might be interested in Bissol's brass-encased 4GB flash drives -- so why not jack the ritz factor by combining them in Mobiado's new battery cover for the Luminoso, which features a storage / display compartment for the included drive? That's right -- Mobiado asked itself what its customers wanted, and came up with a custom battery cover that only holds an opulent brass flash drive. Damn, we knew we weren't exactly the target market, but you'd think they'd at least try to go quadband first.

  • Wiimote dangerous in novice hands

Like so many others this past Thursday, I used Thanksgiving to introduce Wii into the hands of family members. Then my mom introduced her backhand into my 8 year-old cousin's head. BOOM!Admittedly, I wasn't around to supervise witness the scene, but quickly responded to the explosion of sound. A gasp. A yelp. A thud -- batteries and cover striking the floor. The strap held; and I snatched up the Wiimote, still dangling from my mother's wrist. After applying an ice pack to my cousin's smarting head, mom recounted the incident: As she stepped into a backhand return, my cousin excitedly bounced forward anticipating the ball, her head just at the height of mom's strike. The collision was enough to snap off the prongs that hold the top of the battery cover, sending the cover and batteries flying, scattering across the hardwood. Thankfully, no long-term damage to report (unless you count mom's abrupt retirement from Wii Sports). It seems Nintendo has anticipated such misadventure, offering replacement battery covers (currently on back order) for purchase on its online store. Note to self: Mom owes me $1, plus shipping.See also:A Wii Thanksgiving test on the familyA Wii Thanksgiving test on the family: Part 2
