We don't get to do this as often as we'd like, but when we do, oh how much we love it. This week, we're giving away Crash of the Titans (valued at $50) for the Wii, along with two sets (each valued at $15) of Wii skins from Red Beard. The two different skins are the Fiery Red Beard and Warrior designs (you can check those out here). So, here's the prize breakdown: Grand prize winner will receive our review copy of Crash of the Titans (this means it lacks shrinkwrap) and the Fiery Red Beard Wii skin Runner-up will receive the Warrior Wii skin So, how do you enter? Well, leave us a comment telling us what your favorite Crash Bandicoot game is and you're in. You can only enter once, so don't try and post more than one comment or else you'll be disqualified. Also, you've got to be 18 years of age and a resident of the United States (sorry, International readers!). The contest will be open from now until Thursday, October 25th at 11:59PM EST. Comments after then will be disqualified and we'll notify you all as to who the winners are come Friday. Winners will be chosen at random. Please read the official rules before entering. Good luck and thanks for reading Wii Fanboy!

For Crash of the Titans, a lot is on the line. It is looked to by some as the title that will bring the franchise back to its roots to bask once again in the glory of the entries of old. And, in a lot of ways, Crash of the Titans does just that. But, as a title on the Wii, it can also be seen as a failure to capitalize on the best aspect the console has to offer: controls. While it's quite comical when the cursor is changed during cutscenes to funny shapes such as a mustache, allowing you to make a few jokes at the game's characters' expense, none of the game's controls feel suited to the Wii. They don't feel as if they were set with the Wii in mind, lovingly crafted to take advantage of a console feature so rich that it's the very reason for the existence of said console. But, that doesn't mean the controls are flawed, it just means that you aren't getting anything particularly better or special in your choice to play this game on the Wii above its competitors.%Gallery-3294%

This latest trailer for Crash of the Titans has us damn excited for the game. It's not taking control of minions so much that has us all excited, but just the desire for some platforming action on the Wii. We know we'll get quite the fix when a certain other game comes out, but this might not be such a bad diversion while we wait for that other game. What do you all think?

Update: x360a has the pictures for the list in case you're interested.MyGamercard.net got their hands on the Achievement list for Crash of the Titans (which explains the slightly jumbled headline) today. The list seems to point at completing various tasks throughout the story, with some extra stuff thrown in for beating the game on the Hard difficulty and earning Gold Idols on all the levels on hard. Hopefully the Achievements will be retroactive so those who want to tackle those can get the other ones at the same time. There are also 5 secret Achievements which account for 75 Gamerscore. In total there are 47 Achievements for the standard 1000 Gamerscore.

Maybe we're crazy, but watching the embedded video (past the post break) has gotten us kind of excited for the game. The on-rail segments of the video look especially interesting to us. But, you know, we're realists, so we know to hold on to our large amounts of skepticism involving the game and will wait until the final product releases before passing any kind of real judgment.Do you think it looks promising, based on the gameplay montage video?%Gallery-3294%

  • Reinvented Crash Bandicoot coming to PSP

The original Crash Bandicoot may already be playable on our system, but the first real PSP entry in the series is still on its way. Set to be another reinvention of the series, this new game will be titled Crash of the Titans. The main new feature of the game has Crash hijacking the minds of enemies. He'll also have expanded combat moves, and the game will have multiplayer elements. Radical Entertainment is helming this series reboot, which may be good, since they have a history of making enjoyable licensed games (Scarface, Hulk). Maybe this Crash will be worth getting excited over. Any long time Crash fans looking forward to this entry? [Via Games Radar]

IGN got ahold of a few screenshots for the recently revealed Crash of the Titans, giving us all a glimpse into what the game is sure to be like on the DS. As you can see in the image to the right, the game will include minigames, but mainly focuses on the 3D platforming and action that won over so many gamers in the past. We've placed the screenshots past the post break for your viewing convenience.

  • 'Crash' of the Titans headed to Nintendo systems

We weren't too impressed with Crash Boom Bang!, Crash Bandicoot's minigame-filled debut on the Nintendo DS. Crash Tag Team Racing DS couldn't even manage to drive itself out of the studio before the project was scrapped. Third time's the charm, maybe?Crash of the Titans brings the series to not only the DS, but the GBA and Wii. Screenshots of the Wii title indicate that the blue-jeaned marsupial will be thrown back into his natural, platforming/adventure-gaming habitat, freeing him from the wacky genres that've watered down the franchise. Players will be able to unlock extra elements in the Wii version with a DS copy of the game. We're much too cautious to let another Crash Bandicoot title get our hopes up, but we wish Radical Entertainment all the best with its development. Though the Spanish magazine that unveiled Crash of the Titans mentioned an October release, the game isn't guaranteed to arrive in the US at the same date. [Via NeoGAF]
