digg_url = 'http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/13/popcap-social-features-coming-to-all-existing-games/'; PopCap Senior Designer David Bishop said today that the company is "looking to add social features to all our existing games going forward." Speaking at the Develop Conference in Brighton, Bishop wouldn't elaborate on what kind of social features we could expect to see or which existing games might get the social treatment first, but he did mention sending cross-platform taunts and challenges in Peggle as a hypothetical example. When questioned, Bishop said we could expect to see these features rolling out in the next six to 12 months.

Just in case interviews with Stan Glasgow and Jay Vandenbree weren't enough, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's president David Bishop is eager to give you more. In a recent sit-down with Home Media Magazine, the exec noted that Blu-ray players had hit their "sweet spot" in terms of price; of course, one must remember that Sony adores keeping prices high for the sake of the industry, so we'd be hesitant to take that seriously. Moving on, he also noted that SPHE wasn't apt to "change pricing" for its Blu-ray Discs anytime soon, which means it won't change it until market pressures dictate otherwise. Finally, he proclaimed that a 150% growth rate for Blu-ray movies would be about right for 2009, and he pointed out that January 2009 would be a particularly important month for it. The full interview is just a click away, but remember, pop your skeptic hat on before diving in and taking things at face value.[Via The HD Room]

In a strange, un-Sony like move, Sony's David Bishop announced that future Blu-Ray movies from Sony Pictures Entertainment will include portable files that can be transferred to laptops and other portables (such as the PSP?). This feature may launch this year, which would be a fantastic deal for current PLAYSTATION 3 and PSP owners. Imagine copying a movie from your PS3's Blu-Ray reader directly onto the PSP via USB connection. That would be an incredible bonus. Let's see it happen, Sony.[Thanks, Nav! Via Kotaku]
