<div style="text-align: left;">Your <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/mediastreamer">media streamer</a> options aren't exactly limited these days, but if you're looking for one that will also double as a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/nas">NAS</a> (and prefer to get your gear from Japan), you might want to consider Digital Cowboy's latest addition to its Movie Cowboy line: the Xtreamer Pro. This one packs the same dual 3.5-inch hard drives as the company's previous DC-MCNAS1 model (not included), but adds an HDMI port to directly connect to your TV, and what appears to be a whole new interface to let you access the wide variety of media the device supports. No word on any plans for a release over here, but you can look for this one to be available in Japan next month for &yen;22,000, or about $260.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update</strong>: Apparently this Digital Cowboy is a rebadge of the <a href="http://www.xtreamer.net/xtreamerpro/overview.aspx">Xtreamer Pro</a> announced in Europe back in February.</div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/30/digital-cowboy-announces-xstreamer-pro-nas-media-streamer/">Digital Cowboy announces Xtreamer Pro NAS / media streamer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 30 Aug 2010 04:46:00 EST. Having a box <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/nas">sitting on your network</a> and offering up terabytes of storage is a lovely thing, but it's even lovelier when that box can kind of take care of a variety of other problems as well. Such is <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/digitalcowboy">Digital Cowboy</a>'s DC-MCNAS1, a case with dual 3.5-inch SATA bays into which you can slot whatever volume of storage your budget allows. Once connected to your network (over gigabit Ethernet) it can serve up MySQL instances, accept files over FTP/SSH, manage your printers, and of course handle however many torrents you can throw at it. The box ships to Japanese buckaroos next week and, while there's no price set on this one yet, hopefully it won't break the bank.<br />

It's a little hard to believe that we've gone <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/24/movie-cowboy-ipod-media-streamer-goes-heroic-with-dc-branding/">two whole months</a> without a new device from <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/DigitalCowboy/">Digital Cowboy</a>, but at long last, the Japanese wrangler is hitting back with a striking new piece of consumer electronics goodness. The DC-MCNP1, which falls neatly into the Movie Cowboy family, is a 2.5-inch NAS drive at heart, but aside from giving you access to files on its diminutive internal drive anywhere in the world, it also streams a plethora of file formats to your HDTV. The HDMI / composite video outputs should take care of the vast majority of ya, and the USB 2.0 socket provides an expansion option for those needing to hook up an external HDD. An Ethernet port is built in for network access, but those who'd prefer to cut the cord can certainly plug a wireless adapter into that USB socket and pray continuously to the signal gods above. If you find yourself in <font class="CafeSubHeaderText">Fukuoka </font>next month, give this one a look if you've got &yen;19,900 ($209) to spare.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/media-streamers/" rel="tag">Media streamers</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/other-hardware/" rel="tag">Other hardware</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/others/" rel="tag">Others</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/30/digital-cowboys-dc-mcnp1-2-5-inch-nas-doubles-as-media-player/">Digital Cowboy's DC-MCNP1 2.5-inch NAS doubles as media player</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 30 Jul 2009 05:21:00 EST. We won't front -- our heart goes into overdrive each time Japan's own <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/DigitalCowboy/">Digital Cowboy </a>births a new product, and we're especially jazzed about its latest <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/15/movie-cowboy-stores-your-hd-media-outputs-on-the-go/">Movie Cowboy</a>. Known for introducing markedly outr&eacute; home entertainment gear, the company's freshest piece is an iPod-friendly HDD-based media streamer that inexplicably boasts branding from DC Comics. So far as we know, the DC-MC35ULI doesn't come loaded with a director's cut of <em>Watchmen</em>, but it does provide room for a single 3.5-inch hard drive along with an Ethernet jack, USB 2.0 sockets, coaxial / optical digital audio outputs, HDMI, a few composite hookups, iPod streaming and charging capabilities and support for an array of file formats. Still, for &yen;24,800 ($255), we'd definitely expect some built-in storage... or the promise of eternal invisibility, one.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://66.196.80.202/babelfish/translate_url_content?.intl=us&amp;lp=ja_en&amp;trurl=http%3a%2f%2fav.watch.impress.co.jp%2fdocs%2fnews%2f20090424_153702.html">Impress</a>]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/movie-cowboy-ipod-media-streamer-goes-heroic-with-dc-branding/">Movie Cowboy iPod media streamer goes heroic with DC branding</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/movie-cowboy-ipod-media-streamer-goes-heroic-with-dc-branding/#1515663"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/04/movie-cowboy-dc-comics-ipod-dock-remote_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/movie-cowboy-ipod-media-streamer-goes-heroic-with-dc-branding/#1515664"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/04/movie-cowboy-dc-comics-ipod-dock-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/movie-cowboy-ipod-media-streamer-goes-heroic-with-dc-branding/#1515665"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/04/movie-cowboy-dc-comics-ipod-dock-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/movie-cowboy-ipod-media-streamer-goes-heroic-with-dc-branding/#1515666"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/04/movie-cowboy-dc-comics-ipod-dock-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/homeentertainment/" rel="tag">Home Entertainment</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/24/movie-cowboy-ipod-media-streamer-goes-heroic-with-dc-branding/">Movie Cowboy iPod media streamer goes heroic with DC branding</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 24 Apr 2009 09:06:00 EST. Here's the thing about PC cases -- they spend a good bit of time <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/07/31/alienwares-area-51-7500-gaming-desktop-reviewed/">showing off</a> how <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/05/hulk-pc-mod-smashes-expectations-makes-us-green-with-envy/comments/8000714/">fantastic</a> the outside of component-filled boxes can look, but generally speaking, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/22/alienware-relaunches-area-51-alx-desktop-with-overclocked-4ghz-qx/">innards</a> are completely overlooked. Digital Cowboy is out to dramatically reverse the trend with its Acrylic Cowboy cases, which -- by and large -- place your hardware on the <em>outside</em> of the case. We can't exactly see a rhyme or reason (outside of the obvious cooling benefits) as to why these were created, but so long as it stays far, far away from sodas, children and family pets, we'd say it's the perfect way to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/01/bigfoots-killer-network-interface-card-reviewed/">showcase</a> what's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/06/20/nvidias-512mb-geforce-9800-gtx-hits-the-bench/">really important</a> in your gaming rig.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://de.engadget.com/2008/07/23/hochgezuchtete-rechner-luftig-und-schick-verpackt-im-acrylic-c/">Engadget Deutschland</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/desktops/" rel="tag">Desktops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/23/acrylic-cowboy-cases-artfully-expose-your-components-are-not-ch/">Acrylic Cowboy cases artfully expose your components, are not childproof</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 23 Jul 2008 22:41:00 EST. Comically titled as such by manufacturer Digital Cowboy, this portable HD multimedia hard drive comes ready to accept whatever 2.5-inch SATA drive you want to toss within, and after you've loaded it up with material via the USB port, you can slam it down in the bundled cradle for big screen enjoyment. See the camera? Good, neither will the person you're spying on. That's Digital Cowboy's latest take on the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2005/03/12/spywriting-by-word-of-pen/">digital spy pen</a>. If you don't see the need for <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=karaoke">karaoke</a> in a DAP then you're obviously living outside of this "continent oriented" player. The CA-K7 from Japan's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/digital%20cowboy">Digital Cowboy</a> packs 1GB of flash, an integrated microphone, and a proprietary jack on the bottom for connecting an external mic, TV, and home audio system. It also packs enough vocal manipulation tweaks to give you a shot at fronting Jane's Addiction. Of course, it also functions as a portable player with an integrated FM tuner and support for MP3, WMA, and OGG audio at up to 12 hours per charge. Rolling out in Japan and vicinity on May 31st for &yen;14,800 or about $122. Check another picture after the break. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://64.233.179.104/translate_c?&amp;u=http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/av/docs/20070524/dc.htm">Impress</a>]<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/05/24/digital-cowboys-ca-k7-karaoke-dap/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Digital Cowboy's CA-K7 karaoke DAP</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/05/24/digital-cowboys-ca-k7-karaoke-dap/">Digital Cowboy's CA-K7 karaoke DAP</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 24 May 2007 10:01:00 EST. Detach that lens, however, and you're left with a fairly run-of-the-mill webcam, with a 1.3 megapixel resolution, face-tracking functionality, and video recording at up to 30 fps -- if you don't mind dropping things down to 640 x 480, that is (you'll just get 15 fps at the cam's full resolution). Those looking to put the webcam to some remotely-controlled use will also be out of luck, with the lens strictly a manually operated deal. Look for this one to hit Japan next month for 9.800 Yen, or just over $80.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.popgadget.net/2007/01/zoom_in_with_th.php">Popgadget</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/digitalcameras/" rel="tag">Digital Cameras</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/30/digital-cowboy-intros-webcam-with-telephoto-lens/">Digital Cowboy intros webcam with telephoto lens</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 30 Jan 2007 07:50:00 EST. So, here we have <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=%22digital+cowboy%22">Digital Cowboy</a>'s new SOUND Cowboy audio excrescence. This AM/FM radio with an aptitude for MP3 and WMA PlaysForSure playback features 256MB of on-board memory, SD expansion, and a "drip-proof" sheath of boxy plastic to keep your Hank dry for up to 10-hours off battery. The perfect companion to that eucalyptus bath you've been hankerin' fer after a hard day's ride eh Buckaroo Panzai? So go ahead, pick 'er up (if you can) when it drops in June for an expected &yen;9,980 or about $87. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://tinyurl.com/ld6af">Impress</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/06/19/digital-cowboys-sound-cowboy-keeps-your-saddle-light/">Digital Cowboy's SOUND Cowboy: keeps your saddle light</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 19 Jun 2006 08:02:00 EST.
