Here's a topic I almost feel like I've been talking about too much lately, but there is some good news to report. Neth confirms, once again, that Blizzard is planning on streamlining the experience from 1-58, and then adds something else: there are changes, big changes in terms of "detailed quests," being added to Dustwallow Marsh. And while we heard mention of Dustwallow Marsh before, this is the first time I've ever heard it mentioned in conjunction with 1-58 specifically. It seems like Blizzard is actually planning to bring about new content for people who haven't yet hit 60.And that is pretty exciting. So what might be going down in Dustwallow? Jaina Proudmoore is there in Theramore, and of course she's got some old ties to Arthas, so something might be happening in that vein. Onyxia has taken residence in Dustwallow (when she's not masquerading in Stormwind), and we've also heard rumblings in Outland that Deathwing may be making an appearance in either Azeroth (or Northrend) soon. And Dustwallow is also very near to Alcaz Island, which used to be where a certain missing King was previously seen ingame. Or it could be something completely new, of course, that we haven't even heard of yet.At any rate, it's cool to hear that midlevel content is coming, even if it's in a pretty unexpected place (still no Heroic Deadmines plans?). Get ready to go back to Dustwallow Marsh.

For a while now there has been a clamor amongst a vocal minority on the forums regarding mid-level content. So much TLC has gone into the end-game content, many (myself included) would love to see some of those warm fuzzies thrown toward those zones that are less than fun to play. They've done it before, why not spend a bit more time revamping older zones? A recent comment made on the forums has given me new hope for some new content. In a post about what we might do until Wrath of the Lich King arrives, Nethaera dropped this little gem: "Even some changes to Dustwallow Marsh people might be interested in." hmmm....Dustwallow, eh? Certainly, it's a zone with room to expand, and I admit that I don't do much there other than visit Tabetha, Nat Pagle and that firey red-head in the cave. So breathing new life into this zone would be a wonderful thing, especially if it connects to storylines elsewhere in the game.Rather than jump to conclusions, I file this one away in the "interesting to ponder" category. What do you think? Is any mention at all from the uber secretive Blizzard clan a signal of things to come, or are they just tantalizing us with yet another item to guess at?[via Rufuscrim]

  • Around Azeroth: Does this thing have a black box?

Reader Gorkorn of Dragonmaw sends in this shot of a zeppelin that's crashed in the middle of Dustwallow Marsh. And, while I vaguely recall a quest sending me to recover cargo from this crash site, it's not a quest that I do with every character -- this crash site being rather out of the way. But what may have caused this zeppelin to crash? Without a black box, we may never know.Do you have a unique shot of Azeroth or Outland that you'd like to show off to the rest of the world? Reader Antonia of Draenor (EU) sends in this excellent set of screenshots taken it Dustwallow Marsh, at the cemetary on the road near Theramore. As you see, the shot above shows us the evening sky and how exceptionally creepy the place can look during the twilight hours. Below we have the same spot, only bathed in the pale orange light of day. A nice set, don't you think?Do you have a unique shot of Azeroth that you'd like to show off to the rest of the world? Reader Scott sends in this shot of the dock at the mysterious Alcaz Island off the coast of Dustwallow Marsh. The island seems to be something of a catchall as far as Blizzard is concerned... Prior to the 1.9 patch, the King of Stormwind could be found imprisoned in the sewers here. After the 1.9 patch the island was home to Dr. Weavil, a raid boss involved in the quest to open the gates of Ahn'Qiraj. And today? The island is host to a number of elite beasties of no particular allegiance.Do you have a unique shot of Azeroth that you'd like to show off to the rest of the world?
