Remember that M810 that E-TEN announced for its glofiish line of Windows Mobile-powered goodies at MWC? Yep, well, they've announced it again -- along with its underachieving little brother, the M750 -- along with full details and a promise of availability in just two to three weeks. The QWERTY-clad monsters both support WiFi, feature 2 megapixel cameras, GPS, Bluetooth, and 256MB of onboard storage; the lesser M750 makes do with EDGE for wide-area data while the M810 steps it up to HSDPA. If they were coming out of the gate with Windows Mobile 6.1 we'd be whooping and hollering, but they're merely 6 -- to start, anyway -- so nothing to get too excited about. Unless you're into 3.5G data, GPS, and keyboards that glow blue, that is.[Via Pocket PC Thoughts]

  • We're guessing this is the E-TEN glofiish V900

Seeing how this allegedly leaked shot of the upcoming glofiish V900 from E-TEN looks exactly like E-TEN's own promo shot for Mobile World Congress, we're thinking it's the real deal. It actually looks a heck of a lot better now than it that little tiny thumbnail we saw before (dare we say high end?) with tasteful chrome accents, a fairly aggressive display-to-case size ratio, and a front cam for video calling, suggesting this sucker's packing at least UMTS, if not better. That sexy display will come in handy, too, considering that the V900 is going to be packing a veritable what's what of mobile TV standards when it rolls out -- not so much on the MediaFLO, but then again, we're not sure it makes the "what's what" cut, anyway.

Very little is known about the glofiish V900 from E-TEN -- in fact, nothing is known about it other than what we have on this promotional image advertising E-TEN's presence at the GSM Association's Mobile World Congress next month. What few details are revealed here, though, are pretty freakin' notable. The V900 apparently supports DVB-H, DVB-T, T-DMB, and DAB broadcasts, unifying half a world's worth of digital television and radio broadcast standards in a single device. We guess we'll have to wait until the big show in a few weeks to figure out the rest, but if we were the betting types, we'd wager that it'll probably be available in black and blue.[Via Unwired View]

  • E-TEN announces the Glofiish X600

We'd heard rumors about the Glofiish X600 last month, and now E-TEN's made it official. The red and black WinMo 6 handset isn't going to blow anyone's mind, but it's a solid addition to the Glofiish lineup: 2.8-inch QVGA screen, 2 megapixel cam, quad-band GSM (no 3G, though), GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth. No word on price, but E-TEN says we'll be seeing these hit in mid-November -- just enough time for us to get settled in with the now-shipping X800.[Via Slashphone]

  • E-Ten's Glofiish M800: a better X800 with QWERTY

As we noted back in March, the only thing missing from E-Ten's quad-band GSM, UMTS/HSDPA, and GPS packing Glofiish X800 was the QWERTY. No more. Meet the Glofiish M800, ready to throw down with the best that HTC has to offer when it hits Europe in late November / early December for about €599 (nearly $850) pre-subsidy. For that you get all the best of the X800 -- WinMo 6 Professional on a VGA (480 x 640) touchscreen, SiRFstar III GPS, HSDPA data, standard 2.5-mm audio jack -- but with a beefier 500MHz processor and 1530mAh battery and suit-tacular QWERTY in tow. Without a doubt, a worthy contender... on paper anyway. [Via mobility site]

  • T-Mobile offering discounts on Pharos GPS Phone 600 / 600e

Sure, it's not like the GPS Phone is fresh on the block or anything, but those frightened by the pricetag may be able to inch closer to snagging one thanks to a new deal with T-Mobile. Reportedly, those looking to grab Pharos' GPS Phone 600 or 600e can now purchase one with "up to $200 off" so long as you ink your name to a two-year agreement. Of course, those opting for the 600e won't be blessed with the Ostia navigation software, but you can purchase the handset for as low as $399.99 if you agree to a voice and data package, while the map-equipped 600 will run you $499.99 with the same plan. Shave a little ugly off of it, and we'd be sold.[Via MobileWhack]

  • E-TEN Glofiish X500+ gets unboxed

The new E-TEN Glofiish device we hinted at earlier in the month has arrived in all of its 2.8 inch VGA screened, Windows Mobile 6 Pro (see that? We're already shortening that name up 'round here) goodness. Nothin' has changed in the specs, but previously unnoticed (at least by us) is the fact that the X500+ supports RDS-TMC -- so not only will the GPS support get you where you are going, it will help you dodge traffic, too. The package contains all the bits and bobs you would expect: a headset, USB cable, case, charger, and of course some bundled software. Still doesn't seem to be anything official on pricing, but at least you hit the link to check the rest of the unboxing pics.

  • Pharos announces GPS Phone -- no really, that's the name

Pharos, another up and coming gadget company has taken the next step for its GPS device lineup by jumping into the phone space, and rebadging that ETEN device (you know, the much discussed X500 glofiish, aka OX500). Dubbed GPS Phone (we really think calling it The GPS Phone would be much more potent), it's got all the specs we knew this phone was packing, including: SiRFStarIII GPS receiver (duh) with Pharos Ostia nav software, quad-band GSM / GPRS / EDGE (sigh), WiFi, Bluetooth, a 2 megapixel camera, FM radio (o rly!), and a friggin fat $699 price tag. Now, we're not necessarily saying $700 for a GPS-equipped Pocket PC is too much, but we really do wish they could have shaved $5 off the top of that margin and dropped in a damned UMTS / HSDPA radio, you know? Ah well, SIM unlocked and yours come February. More pics after the break.

  • ETEN glofiish X500 hits FCC as "OX500"

The good news? ETEN has humbly submitted its thin, sexy X500 glofiish Pocket PC for the FCC's approval as the "OX500." The better news? According to the test report, GSM is in the box on both the 850 and 1900MHz bands. While that obviously doesn't guarantee any US carrier is going to pick up this bad boy, it does mean that you'll be able to import one, use it on any GSM tower in the States, and do so with the peace of mind that the FCC isn't trying to hunt you down for using an unapproved device. At just 0.6 inches thick, we're digging the integrated GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.0; just give us a few minutes to curse the lack of 3G and we'll totally be on board.

  • E-TEN glofiish X500 reviewed

With the recent bombardment of Windows Mobile devices being released, it's kind of hard for anything to really catch our attention -- until now. E-TEN's latest offering, the glofiish X500, brings to the table what is being called the "World's thinnest Pocket PC Phone that combines GPS and WiFi in one device." This handset comes feature-packed with a quad-band GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 radio supporting EDGE data, a 400MHz Samsung S3C2440 processor, 128MB ROM and 64MB of RAM, a 2.8" QVGA touchscreen display, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, and a 2 megapixel camera with flash. It seems like E-TEN still had some extra room left, though, seeing how they also decided to throw in SiRFStar III GPS for when we get lost, microSD slot for saving all of our music and pictures, and even found some space for an FM tuner. Of course, with new Pocket PC devices being released almost weekly, we wonder just how long this phone will reign supreme.

  • E-TEN M600+ gets the review treatment

phoneArena's been recently blessed with the opportunity to put E-TEN's upgraded M600, the M600+, through its paces -- and they appear to have been left with a pretty lukewarm impression of the company's latest Pocket PC Phone Edition effort. While it's hard to argue with 256MB of internal flash and a 2-megapixel autofocus shooter (by Pocket PC standards, anyway), sound quality was apparently awful via both earphone and speakerphone, a lack of soft keys made one-handed operation tricky, and its GPRS data speeds are so 2002. The device's 400MHz Samsung core, while not necessarily anemic, wasn't breaking any speed records either; add that to the 2.5mm jack and there's not much to love here. Sorry, E-TEN -- we know the M600+ is quad-band, but we're going to have to pass. Better luck with your G500, mkay?
